2007-Jul-23 - The Weekend....Berries.....and more BERRIES.....
What a great weekend....! We got up and at 'em early Saturday and went to our favorite local blueberry farm, and ended up with 21 pounds! We had blueberry pancakes for supper, which were scrumptious!Needless to say, today I am making blueberry jam and BLUEBERRY SYRUP....mmmmmmmm!
The girls and I went out to check our raspberries when we got home and low and behold we got about a FLAT off of them, with more coming!! We are in berry heaven!
We will try and get to the blueberry farm once more this week--my goal was to get 50 pounds. So we'll see what we can't pull off -Lord willing- it's supposed to be a nice week, perfect for picking!
My sweet peas are coming along, I love it that dh can walk out and enjoy picking and eating them right from the vine :) The apple, pear and plum trees are looking incredibly packed this year....so we'll be enjoying that bounty soon too.
I just love this time of year, preserving and putting by. God's Blessings, as the 6 yo dd put it, 'are sure bountiful this year' -- AMEN !
