2006-Mar-4 - Looking for info on grain mills / grinders.....
So, if you have a grain mill / grinder, I want to hear from YOU! I want to know as much as possible on the goods, bads and uglies of your grain mills.....
What type do you have ? Would you buy it again ? What are the pluses & minuses about it ?
I'd really like to find one that is BOTH electric and usable withOUT electricity.
Anyone have any idea'rs for me ?

Sorry, I don't know how to do fancy links like the other ladies. Anyways, if you copy & paste the link above it will take you to The Urban Homemaker page which gives a comparison on a few different mills. There you will also see one called the Family Grain Mill which has the option of either hand-crank or electric base; it comes with both. You can also buy different attachments to use with it.
This is the kind I ordered, it's on backorder though so I haven't received it yet :(
Hope that helps.
Feel free it write if I can help anymore.

I have a Back to Basics mill that I just got from a friend. I like it so far, it makes a nice flour. I havent had a lot of time to experiment with it yet. You can see pics on my blog if you have time to check it.

I just ordered a Family Grain Mill with an attachment that enables me to use it with my Bosch or handheld. It should be coming soon, so I can be more liberal in my praise, but I'm really excited! I'm getting the flaker attachment too, and some oat groats, for some yummy yummy oatmeal. I couldn't get to your comments from your page, so this could be a repeat. I do love my Nutrimill, love it, love it, but it's electric only so doesn't meet your specifications.
