I just love this picture of my Grandmother, Mother, and Aunt.
Just wanted to give you an update on Grandma. As of Friday her doctor couldn't feel or see the cancer in her neck any longer. Her last treatment is on the 30th and boy is she happy about that. She hasn't been able to eat real food for over 3 weeks and I coudn't say for sure, but I think she spends most of her time in her room fantasying about the delicacies that await her. She's doing great and she still has her hair. Woohoo!
Once things settle around here we'll head back to KY and start on the house again. Coming back to WA for awhile has made us thankful once again for our place in KY. We are so blessed. Thank you so much for your prayers for Grandma. I know they've helped because whenever we're at the doctor's office they keep referring to her pain and we keep telling them "what pain"? She hasn't got any pain". Praise God!

2 Corinthians 5:4-8
For we who are in this tent groan,
being burdened, not because
we want to be unclothed,
but further clothed,
that mortality may be
swallowed up by life.
Now He who has
prepared us for this
very thing is God,
who also has given us
the Spirit as a gurarantee.
So we are always confident,
knowing that while
we are at home in the body
we are absent from the Lord.
For we walk by faith,
not by sight.
We are confident,
yes, well pleased
rather to be absent from the body
and to be present with the Lord.

We're staying in Missoula, Montana tonight and we'll be at Grandma's tomorrow. She's still doing really good considering the circumstances. Please keep praying for a full recovery. Speaking of praying. I don't know how many of you I told, but I've been having a real bad time with my eyes for over 3 years and most of the time I couldn't read. Sometimes everything was blury. I had my eyes checked and the doctor said that my eyes were fine and gave me the same perscription for contacts. So my wonderful husband always has to remind me that when I have a problem that I need to pray about it instead of just dealing with it. Well I have to say that for the last month I've had completely clear vision and I have to give God the glory because I don't believe in coincidence. I prayed that if He would make it so that I could read again then I would spend more time reading my bible, which I have a tendency to lack in when we get busy. So praise be to God. I am so thankful.
James 1:17
Every good gift and
every perfect gift
is from above,
and comes down
from the Father of lights,
with whom there is no
variation or shadow of turning.

Jeremiah 29:11-14
For I know the thoughts
that I think toward you,
says the Lord,
thoughts of peace and not of evil,
to give you a future and a hope.
Then you will call upon Me
and go and pray to Me,
and I will listen to you.
And you will seek Me and find Me,
when you search for Me
with all your heart.
I will be found by you,
says the Lord

Today we made it through all of South Dakota, visited Mt. Rushmore, and then into Wyoming. We may make it to Washington tomorrow. Having lots of fun and enjoying the beauty all the way. This has been our favorite way to go. No boring dry and barren lands this way and the hotels seem to be alot cheaper up north and then west. Usually we go down the west side and then through the southern states. The hotels are above $100.00 that way and so far we've not paid more than $80.00.
Supreme unleaded is cheaper here than the regular unleaded because it is made from corn ethenol. I don't think we've ever used supreme before. Hope the car doesn't get used to it cause I don't think it'll be the same once we get to Washington.

Wind Point Lighthouse on Lake Michigan
-

We decided to go North and then West this trip so we could see Lake Michigan and some different states. We traveled through Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minessota so far. Illinois is very beautiful and not what we expected. It took us almost three hours to get through Chicago on I94 on Sunday evening. I can't imagine what it would've been like during rush hour. Wisconsin looked alot like Kentucky, but with better roads. People were alot more layed back behind the wheel. Minnesota is beautiful farm after farm. We'll be headed into South Dakota tomorrow.
Grandma had a really good weekend and was able to eat and drink which she really hasn't been able to do for a few weeks. My aunt, uncle and our son built her a pergola roof over her back porch complete with new plants and a comfy lounge chair. It's something she's wanted for a while now. There's nothing like a pretty scene to help a person feel better.

From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

1 Chronicles 16: 8-12
Oh, give thanks to the Lord!
Call upon His name;
Make knowm His deeds among the peoples!
Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;
Talk of all His holy name:
Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord!
Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face evermore!
Remember His marvelous works which He has done.
His wonders, and the judgments of His mouth

Ephesians 2:8-10
For by grace you have been saved
through faith and that not of yourselves;
it is the gift of God,
not of works,
lest anyone should boast.
For we are His workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand
that we should walk in them.

Many,
O Lord my God,
are Your wonderful works
Which You have done;
And Your thoughts toward us
Cannot be recounted to You in order;
If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered.

We put up 50' of siding on our home yesterday and thought we could do the same today. But here's a picture right before the storm. I was just trying to get a picture of the first cutting of our hay. I guess we should've gotten the hint when the humidity rolled in. In an instant we were standing in 3" of mud and dumbfounded trying to pick up 13 pieces of sheetmetal, tools, insulation, etc. Everything was soaked and muddy including us. Just another KY storm with thunder, lightning, and a wall of water right on top of us. We looked like complete filthy animals. The joke was on us though cause when we got into town it was perfect sunshiny weather.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart.
Even though our outward man is perishing,
yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
For our light affliction,
which is but for a moment,
is working for us a far more exceeding and eteranl weight of glory,
while we do not look at the things which are seen,
but at the things which are not seen.
For the things which are seen are temporary,
but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Just a quick update. Not much happening except we had to start putting up the siding ourselves because everyone we hire to do it isn't working out and it is getting hotter by the day. I had to put ice in all my pockets to keep cool and drank about a gallon of water. I don't think I've ever drank that much even in a three day period. A nice man from church is helping my husband today so I thought I'd clean the house and get it ready to move out of. And call the IRS to find out where our refund is that we sent off 2 1/2 months ago. That was an 1 1/2 hour phone call. Yuck! All she could tell me is if you don't here from us in another month then call again. It's almost worth it to just forget about it. We'll be heading back to Washington for awhile to help Grandma out. Her doctors say she'll be fine it's just going to be a pretty difficult 4 months or so till she heals up. Does anyone have any ideas on liquid type foods with minimal sugar, no soy, or wheat? Her tongue and mouth will be so sore that is probably all she'll be able to eat for awhile. Thank you so much for your prayers we are so happy that her prognosis is so good. Praise God.

Happy Birthday to our son! He is 19 today. He was 8lbs 12 1/2oz and born at 12:46pm. He was perfect and healthy and we never thought we could love anything so much. His daddy just couldn't bare to put him down and slept with him on his chest in the bed next to me that night. He was the most beautiful baby. Wow how the time has flown. It's neat to look back at when he was very small and I can remember his personality traits were the same then as they are now. He's smart, stubborn, funny and loves to laugh, compasionate, a perfectionist, loves animals and he's still a cutie. We are so proud of the person he's turned out to be. We love you son.

The honeysuckle grows wild everywhere here. It smells so good outside right now. We killed our first Kentucky snake today. We didn't know what kind it was but I figured that we'd be better off if it were dead. The bugs are really getting loud. I think it's the cicadas. They've been in the ground for 17 years before they emerged and I think they're very happy to be out. We could even hear them as we were driving down the highway with the windows rolled up. It's starting to get humid and it was in the 80's today and I actually like it better than the dry heat we had back in WA. For some reason I do better in it. We'll see if I do so well when it gets in the 90's and above.

Today was another really good day. We had our water main and septic area dug and he'll finish up tomorrow if it doesn't rain. It was beautiful and not to hot. I keep wondering when the hot weather is going to kick in. So far it's been perfect. The lady from the extension office came out to talk to me about having a berry farm and she said to get the soil tested before anything else. Also that we have a great piece of land without any problem areas and that we could grow anything on it except probably blueberries. Go figure. Oh well we'll wait till we get the soil samples back and go from there. I wanted to have a variety of berries anyway not just blueberries. She said it would probably be a fight to keep the soil acidic enough for blueberries. We have so much natural calcium in our soil that it tends to be alkaline. Take care

Yesterday was a really good day. First of all Grandma called to say her doctor found the cancer. They think it's contained in a tonsil. We'll find out more on the 3rd. Meanwhile she's doing an herbal treatment and receiving a ton of prayer.
Another good thing is our son had an interview for a job. Woohoo!
We finished all our plumbing for the drains and we're pressing on.
Last night was so beautiful. It was a full moon and we finally got to witness the fireflies. Our fields were dancing with them and they were everywhere. I would say that it was one of the coolest things we've ever seen, alot brighter than I thought they would be and alot more colorful. There was also dry lightning. It turned out to be a perfect evening.

Our electricity and water are hooked up. We'll probably finish up our plumbing tomorrow. If it dries up a little. Everything's been held up for the last few weeks from the rain. Everyone says it is unusual to be getting this much rain. The man that is going to finish up our siding is going to come out tomorrow and measure so we can get started again, weather permitting.

Our trees are so thick now we can't see the back half of the property anymore and the grass is almost hip heigth. Someone is suppose to cut it for hay in a few weeks for us.

This little river is down the road from us.
