 Here is something that is on our minds lately.  So many people are becoming excepting of mediums and psychics. There is so much on T.V. about it and in childrens books  now that it is becoming a craze among people and many are curious about it, but this is something that shouldn't be dabbled in.  In God's word this is strictly forbidden and is an abomination to the Lord. 

Here are some examples:

1 Chronicles 10:13  So Saul (Israel's first king) died for his unfaithfulness that he had committed against the Lord, because he did not keep the word of the Lord and also he consulted a medium for guidance. 

Deuteronomy 18:9  "When you come into the land your Lord your God has given you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of these nations. v.10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interpets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or spiritualists, or one who calls up the dead.  For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord.

  Spiritualists, mediums, fortune tellers and psychics in the bible are referred to as people with familiar spirits which means the same as demon possessed. 

One New Testament example:

Acts 16:16-18 Now it happened as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by forturne telling.  This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying,  "These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation."'  And this she did for many days.  But Paul, "greatly annoyed turned and said to the spirit, "I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her."  And he came out that very hour. 

There are many more examples, but it's really simple to get the point with just these few.

Magnify the Lord.  Thank Him for the scriptures that we can know these things  and learn from them. 

God warns us of these things because He loves us and wants what is best for us.  His concern is to protect the ones He loves.  And we can rest in that.
