Our Journey

Posted in Unspecified

We bought the land today.  It is 19 acres.  We've already met one of the neighbors who was a sweet lady about our age and her husband is the pastor of the church down the road.    She told us that the land used to be a horse farm many years ago.  My family will think this is ironic- it has wild garlic everywhere.  This is so funny because over the years they've had to watch what they cooked for us since my husband hated garlic with a passion until the last few years.  It also looks like there is parsley growing everywhere too.  First we can eat the garlic and eat the parsley after (which is meant to take away the bad breath).  We've been searching for a place to rent and think we may have found one.    This first picture is of the view from where the house will be.

Angel loves it.  She can sniff to her hearts content.

This is the back field.

This is the hill that the house will be built on.

This is the forest on the back of the land.  Which has lots of deer and turkey.  There are already deer stands set up in a few of the trees.

This is for my Dad- I'm sure there has to be a cave on this land somewhere.  We found a small opening in the ground on the piece next to us that we didn't buy.  We would've loved to buy the other ten acres, but then we wouldn't be able to build ourselves a house.  There are beautiful rock formations up in the woods.  We found where someone has stacked some rocks into a square formation.  We thought it might be an old grave site.

My dream is to have a berry farm.  Inspired by my Grandma Smith.  The neighbor lady also said that the land there is some of the most fertile land around.

Love and miss everyone.  We will build a home that we promise to share with you and we hope you all will visit  as soon as we get it up or sooner.
