I knew about the red light on cars, but not the *77
It was about
1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up  behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have always told her  never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather  to wait until they get to a gas station, etc.

Lauren had actually listened to her  parents advice, and promptly called
*77 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that  she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher  that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his  rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police  cars where she was and there weren 't, and he told her to keep driving,  remain calm and that he had back up already on the  way.

Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her  and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the  others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and  tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for  other crimes.

I never knew about the
*77  Cell Phone Feature, but especially for a woman alone in a car,  you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to  respect your right to keep going to a safe place.

*Speaking to a service representative at **
Bell ** Mobility  confirmedthat *77 was  a direct link to State trooper info. So, now  it's your turn to let your friends know about *77.

This applies to ALL 50 states. Great Information that may save your life one day.

Two Choices

READ THIS,

LET IT REALLY SINK IN - THEN CHOOSE.

John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, 'If I were any better, I would be twins!'

He was a natural motivator.

If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up and asked him, 'I don't get it!

You can't be a positive person all of the time How do you do it?'

He replied, 'Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or ... you can choose to be in a bad mood

I choose to be in a good mood.'

Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or...I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.

Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or... I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.

'Yeah, right, it's not that easy,' I protested.

'Yes, it is,' he said. 'Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood.

You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live your life.'

I reflected on what he said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.

Several years later, I heard that he was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower.

After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back.

I saw him about six months after the accident.

When I asked him how he was, he replied, 'If I were any better, I'd be twins..Wanna see my scars?'

I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.

'The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be born daughter,' he replied. 'Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or...I could choose to die. I chose to live.'

'Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?' I asked

He continued, '...the paramedics were great.

They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared.. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man'. I knew I needed to take action.'

'What did you do?' I asked.

'Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me,' said John. 'She asked if I was allergic to anything 'Yes, I replied.' The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Gravity''

Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.'

He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude... I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.

Attitude, after all, is everything
.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.' Matthew 6:34.

After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.

You have two choices now

What choice will you make ?

Got this from my Farmer's Almanac e-newsletter...

Sky Watch

The planets and the Moon are putting on a show! For a few nights, brilliant Venus, bright Jupiter, and the crescent Moon blaze in a striking conjunction. They first formed their brilliant triangle last night, 15 degrees high, in the southwestern sky. The three celestial objectives will continue to stay close together as seen from Earth even though the planets are millions of miles away.

It has been a few days, I know...I can't believe it is December...Where did this year go?!  Thanksgiving went by with only 2 turkey dinners!! yipee...On Thanksgiving day we went to a friends house..then Saturday we had a big family dinner at my Aunt's house.  She is the mother/grandmother to us all...She was my dad's big sister...the only girl in the family of 5 kids!  She is a wonderful women...one of those women that never acts her age...never slows down...and is full of well......heehee...I love her and would not know where all of this family would be without her!

You may have seen pictures of my 1950 Spartan camper...I had it up for sale for a little while but decided to keep the aluminum monster!  She is slowly becoming my hidey-hole.  I am moving all of my quilting and crafty supplies in...MAN!!! I GOT ALOT OF STUFF!!!  The more I look around the house the more I find.  I had fabric and supplies stuck everywhere!!!  Who knew!  (me)  The weather is nice today so I will be trying to finish up the move....It has been yucky lately...and now we are all sickly.  The crud has arrived.

Well, time for me to get busy...I will try to be a better blogger than I have lately...so much going on I can't keep up with it....I will make time!!!  Promise!!!

Energizer Turkey... It keeps going and going, lol

So originally this was going to be an update to the "Rubber Turkey" ya know because it stretches and streches like rubber, but I like "Energizer Turkey" better because it keeps going and going, lol

Tonight will be day 3 of Turkey for dinner, I am wondering how far it will stretch to feed us.

The first night we had

Turkey
Mashed Potatoes and gravy
Stuffing
and green beans

last night  the kids and I had the same thing just reheated but dh wanted to make a sandwich so he had 2 turkey sandwiches.

Tonight  dh will probably want sandwiches again since those are his all time favorite way to eat leftover thanksgiving turkey, I think I will  make hot turkey and gravy sandwiches for me and the kids,  however I think they may opt for something else as they weren't as thrilled with turkey again  for dinner last night like their dad was, but I have plenty of stuff for them to choose from, They will probably want grilled cheese sandwiches with hm applesauce on the side.

So there ya go, 3 meals so far from a free turkey, I wonder how long it will last?
