Good Morning Everyone!
It's a dark, misty day here on the farm but my sprits are high.....I have kids coming home from college tomorrow so decided today would be a good day for Keith and I to run to Iola and pick up a few groceries. Normally this wouldn't be a "fun trip" but we've decided to hit my favorite flea market and then go have Mexican for lunch! This is our favorite Mexican restaurant so I'm really looking forward to it. After all the dark, nasty days we've been having I really look forward to a fun day out.
My reason for this note this morning is because so many have asked to see the rug hooked chair pad that my friend Sher put together for me. Since my kitchen is the room I spend the most time in (Doesn't every woman?) I decided it was time to move it in there. Our kitchen is extremely small so there wasn't a lot of choices of where it could go. I finally decided on an old shabby chic kitchen chair that sets by the door leading out into our family room. While it doesn't exactly match the decor in there I still love how it looks. Of course seeing it makes me want to make a dozen more! HA Actually I would love to make a different chair pad (Using the same colors) for each of our kitchen chairs but I'm sure that's not going to happen in my life time....So many ideas, so little time!!!! So, I'll just have to enjoy this one.
Yesterday I hooked on my cabin rug and I swear I never know when to leave well enough alone! I decided some "smoke" coming out of the chimney would look great so proceeded to use a light gray wool to give it that effect. It now looks as though the chimney has a "blog of gray" on top it! I'm going to try "feathering it out" but if that doesn't work it's going to become a non-working chimney! HA
Well girls, I best get around so we can make a mad dash to town. I hope everyone his having sunnier weather than we are and that your all getting tons done. Spring Blessings, Sher
