Ok, I Am Spoiled!!!!!!!
For years all my friends and family have told me I'm spoilt by Keith.    I'm the first to admit he treats me the way every women wants to be treated....He'll hurry to open doors for me, always does the ordering when were in restaurants, doesn't want me to carry anything heavy or do anything that he considers "man work".     I have never considered this being spoilt...Just respecting me as a woman.       In turn, I try to do little things for him. ~~~I'm not a coffee drinker yet each morning I make sure his coffee is made before he gets up and if I hear him stirring  I'll take him a cup.    He loves to eat so I make sure the house is filled with food and I'm constantly baking for him.   Do I call this "spoiling him"?   Absolutely not, I'm just being the woman of the house.    However, Saturday I have started to change my mind on just what is 'polite' and what is really 'spoiled'.
To tell the whole story I have to go back to the weekend that Sam and Renee came home and went looking for their belated wedding gift.   That's the weekend I fell in love all over again!    No, not with another man but with a primitive piece of furniture!!!!!    It was in the first antique shop we went in and before we left that shop I bet I had walked over to it twenty times.     Each time I looked at it I tried to decide where I could fit that BIG piece of furniture into this TINY little house.    No matter how hard I thought I knew there was no where to put (Not even in the cabin or my shop!) so it was with heavy heart I walked out of that shop without it.
For weeks I have thought about this piece.    Girls, it was just so perfect for our household.    Not only was it primitive but it had ties to the small town that we get our mail from.    The owner of the shop  said at one time it had been in the post office there.    Apparently it had been used to sort part of the mail because the top has all these little "cubby-holes" and the bottom shelves.    You can tell it was a "make-do" piece as the "cubbies" are made out of old piece of crates...Mostly cracker and candy crates but on one you can even see the name of our town stamped!!!!!   I swear, that piece was just calling my name but as I said, there was no place to put it so.........................
Saturday morning Jeni and Keith came in the kitchen where I was working and I noticed they had their "town clothes" on.   I really didn't think anything of it because a lot of time they will get up early on Saturday's and go yard sailing.     Little did I know I was soon going to know what being spoilt meant!!!!!
They left and when they came home a little over an hour later, in the back of the truck was my piece!!!!!    Naturally I was thrilled beyond words but I did manage to mutter, "But where are we going to put it?" and Keith replied, "I don't know but it's going in that house!" HA    For now it's sitting in our HALLWAY!!!!!    I can't tell you how crowded it is  (My poor ole fat tail will barely make it through there now! HA) but I also can't tell you how thrilled I am it's there!!!!!    We have decided to get rid of the sofa in the family room (We never go in there anyway!) and  not only will it be going out there but that room is going to get a complete make-over!    I'm so excited and can hardly wait to find a new home for that sofa so we can get started on it!!!!
And to tell you what a wonderful new DIL I have (Renee) when I told her that Keith went and bought it she said, "I KNEW you would get that piece and I'm sure the hallway isn't THAT crowded!"    Now is she not a keeper????    My poor son just thought he was getting away from Mom and her "junk" when he got married....He's married a girl JUST LIKE her!!!!! HA    Get used to it son, your still going to live surrounded by "junk"! HA   In my next posting I'll tell you about THEIR auction this past weekend!!!!!
So, now the world can know the truth....This ole farm gal is SPOILT and I'm darn proud of it!!!!!   Stayed turned....In a little while I'll tell you about our day yesterday and all the fun we had!    Country Blessings, Sher

Great shared story, I love it !!!!!
My kids say the same thing about me and the things I bring home, lol. Mine are usually found on the curb tho . Can't believe what folks throw away.

I have often wondered if my son will meet someone like his mom too, that would be a hoot, lol

I wanted to put you on my friends list for future visits but it doesn't have that feature on your profile, but I will be back cuz I want to hear the rest of your stories

Take good care and enjoy that new piece of furniture that has a great history and making new memories
