A Dreary Thursday
Good Morning Everyone!

Our little ones just got on the bus and now my work day can really start!     I had planned to do a couple of loads of laundry this morning but it's sure looking like rain out there!    We just had two inches Tuesday so I think that's enough for the week....I don't want to have to mow that grass again before the weekend.
We are having such an unusual Fall this year.    After having several days of cooler weather we are back to having HOT!    Much to hot I might add for the first week of October!!!!   The only good thing about this is we aren't having to run our propane furnace.     To those of you who heat with propane you know how the cost is rising!   I can remember when we paid thirty-four cents a gallon for propane.   This week we had one tank filled (We have two 500 gallon tanks) and by paying cash as it was filled,  it cost us $1.59 a gallon!!!!!   Thankfully we only had to fill one tank (We made it all last winter on one tank that was 80% full!) but I can't help thinking about the people who aren't so lucky.   How will they ever pay to heat their homes????   So when ever I long for cooler temps. I just remind myself how much I'm saving in fuel and it suddenly doesn't seem so bad!
Since it's impossible to decorate the outside with tons of pumpkins and worry about them rotting (Ok, there is one lone pumpkin out there among my mums!) I have went nuts on the inside of the house.   One of the things I bought Tuesday was one of those big, fat fake pumpkins.  Have you all seen them?   They are so real looking that Keith questioned me about having a real pumpkin inside the house! HA   I would love to find a white one but so far no luck.    I put the one I bought on top the wooden box that Keith bought at the antique shop that sits on the hearth of our fireplace.
I also have the little primitive bench in front of our love seat decorated.   I took an old wooden dough bowl and filled it with Fall colored leaves.   Then I nestled an antique picture of a family, some primitive candles, an old hog scraper, some pumpkins and a little Halloween pinkeep that made among them.   I was really thrilled with the way it turned out....Gives me just the right amount of Fall color to help me get through these hot days!!!!!
So far in the kitchen all I have done is put on a Halloween table cloth.    I've promised the little ones we'll be putting some pumpkins and such in the old cupbaord soon.....To those of you who don't know me, Halloween is my favorite time of the year!!!!!   In fact, one of the things I bought Tuesday was 40 different Halloween cookie cutters!   I can hardly wait to try them out!!!!
Speaking of Halloween, it's really time for me to head back to the drawing board.~~~~I'm designing a small Halloween pinkeep and for some reason it's really giving me fits.   Normally I can whip out a pinkeep in one day but this one really has me stumped.    So, on that note it's back to work for me.   I hope everyone is having a great day and I look forward to reading about them when I take my break.   Fall Blessings, Sher
