It's Wednesday on the farm and it looks like we are in for a wild day! I knew when we woke up this morning the sky didn't look right...Not only was it darker than normal but there's a stillness to the air. Sure enough our local weather channel is saying we could have strong thunderstorms by afternoon. I hate this time of year. Living on the flat prairies of Kansas it seems as if we take a direct hit every time there's a storm.
On days like this I just like to stay near the phone (In case they call school off) and be near our basement. Luckily today we don't have any plans as yesterday we did all our running! It seems as if ever since we started our cabin (Which daily is looking more and more like it's going to be a cottage!) we have been constantly on the go pricing lumber and such. I thought we were all through with that when we found our local lumber yard is about as cheap as any of the big lumber stores! Unfortunately, my washer decided to die Monday. This was the top of the line washer nine years ago and I have had nothing but problems with it. I told Keith I didn't care if it could be fixed for twenty-five cents, that washer was leaving this house and a new one was taking it's place. So, once again we loaded up yesterday and went shopping. I'm now the proud owner of a new washer that will hopefully be better than the last one I bought!
Since we were already out, we decided to hit some of our local antique stores and flea markets. I am now the owner of several "new" pieces. One of them I'm going to be sharing with you today. In reality, it's a dolls wardrobe from the 40's-50's. In it's new life it's going in our cottage and will hold kitchen items. I love it's Shabby Chic look and think it will look just great in there. I sure wish this building was going to be bigger because I've only found a million and one things I'd like to stick in it!
Well, it's time for me to get in gear. I hope your all having a safe day and that everyone is thinking Spring thoughts! By the way Donna, in my last post those are the Coffee Bonbons I made. Hugs, Sher |
