Old Crow Farm
2006-Feb-10
It's a Cooking Friday on the Farm!
We woke up this morning to another cold Friday!   While the wind is blowing now they are saying it's suppose to be worse by afternoon and even colder!    So, with that in mind I decided today would be a good day to some cooking.~~~ Ok, the nineteen year old is coming home from college and his girlfriend will meet him here so I really don't have any choice but to cook!!!
I now have Oatmeal Rolls raising and later on I'll get my Manicotti made up so it will be all ready to pop in the oven for supper.   I'm also going to do a Creamy Peanut Butter Pie.   Will work on that as soon as my Cream Cheese gets soft enough to whip.   It's a good thing I like to cook, right?
This is also the day I had put aside to make up my old bosses Valentine's goodies.   I wish everyone could have a boss like Martin and Shirlee.   They were always so sweet and when something came up and I needed time off it was just a question of just asking.   I always told Martin when the time came it was no longer "fun" working I would quit and that day came when Keith took a job in Europe....I could not take care of my boys, the farm and work outside the home.    So, even though I'm no longer employed, it still feels like "home" when I walk through the doors of their business.     Since I love to cook and they love to eat, it's always fun to take them over little goodies from my kitchen.    Today I did Shirlee heart shaped Sugar Cookies and for Martin, Giant Oatmeal-Raisin Cookies.   Keith and I ran them over a little while ago so they are now out of my kitchen.  (I have a little tiny kitchen and just the barest of things can make it feel cluttered!)
Well, all this talk of cooking has gotten me hungry so I guess I'll go in there and start Keith and I some soup for lunch.    I hope everyone is well and warm this cold, windy Friday and that you'll all have a great weekend!   Hugs, Sher

We hope to have goats this spring and then I will be happy!! Goats, chickens and gardens.... what more could I ask for.
