A Cold Day in Kansas!
 I wish everyone could join me this cold Kansas morning! The fireplace is burning, the candle warmer is smelling the house up with the scent of Carrot Cake and I have fresh Berry Cheesecake Muffins to eat. The perfect day to stay in and enjoy being a stay at home mother! Now just a few days ago I wouldn't have been so thrilled about staying home.~~~ We have had a horrible bout of strep throat and flu in this house. Our six year old Drew always gets things worse than anyone else and this time was no exception. The poor little guy not only had sore throat but was vomiting too. A trip to the doctor got him on the road to recovery but he still looks horrible with dark circles under his eyes!
Having sick little ones has certainly put me behind with everything around this old house. I'm finally getting the laundry finished up today and some much needed baking done. Keith and I made a hurried trip to town yesterday to buy groceries (I was afraid to be gone to long for fear the school would call that we needed to come after a young'un or two!) and I bought three new magazines. I swear, we'd be a lot richer and the house a lot less cluttered if I didn't buy so many magazines! I can't help myself, on these cold winter days I need something for inspiration.
Keith has braved the cold this morning and headed for his shop. He's planning another big project for Old Crow Farm but I'm not going to share it with you yet.~~~Ok, to be honest he hasn't convinced me it needs to be as big as he has planned and I'm not going to say anything until I see who wins this one! I do know he needs something to do to keep him out of MY house!!!
Well, my tea is getting cold so I think I'll eat another muffin and drink it down. Then it's time to get in gear around here. Hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying their day as much as I am! Hugs, Sher |
