Old Crow Farm

Wed. on the Farm!
It seems forever since I have had the time to sit down and catch everyone up on the news around our place.   So much has happened I hardly know where to begin.   I guess a good place would be with our weather.   It looks as though May is going to be leaving us with warmer temperatures and more showers.   While the rain has been wonderful for my flowers it's sure caused the grass the to grow.   We are still mowing every three days and by that third day things are starting to look rough!  Right now we have all the grass mowed but the very front yard and the very back yard.   Of course we are having showers this morning so by the time we get to it the rest will have caught up.   There are days I actually envy people living in town with manageable yards!
One thing May has brought us is the most heavenly smelling Honeysuckle I have ever had!   The minute you walk out our back door the smell hits you in the face.   I love it!!!!   I keep thinking I'm going to cut some and bring it in the house in a vase to see if I can get the house to smell like that.   Maybe this afternoon I'll try it.
We've also had two graduations this year....My niece Emily and Seth's girlfriend Codi.   It's always so wonderful to watch young people at this time of year.   Their dreams and lives before them fill them with wonder and yet you can see the little bit of "fear" in their eyes at the unknown.   Both of these young ladies are super people and I know they will go far in life.  They'll both be heading to college in the Fall.
Drew is back to being sick and at last we have found a doctor who is going to do something about it.   In the next few weeks he'll be having some teeth removed and his tonsils and adenoids taken out.   I dread putting someone seven years old through this but he can not continue like he has been.  Poor little thing has missed as much school as he's attended.   Thank God he's a good student or we'd really been in trouble!
Keith has been steadily working on the cabin.   It's still not done but within the next few days I'll be posting a few pictures of it.   Normally we work ourselves to death on a "project" and never enjoy it.   The cabin has been different.   We are MAKING ourselves go slow on it and are spending lots of time out there just sitting around and talking.   At our ages it's time to finally kick back and enjoy life.   We're doing just that with the cabin!
Well, I'd best get this posted and get around as we are running after groceries today...Our little ones are out of school as of this afternoon so it's time to enjoy one last day of peace and quiet.   Hope everyone is well and enjoying their last few days of May!   Blessings, Sher
