A Cold Tuesday Morning!

Good Morning~
It's a COLD morning here on the farm....One of those days when your thankful you don't have to get out. (We had heard we were going to have some cold temps this week so did our running yesterday!) I got up super early this morning and tore into my house and at last if you walked up to my door I wouldn't be ashamed to let you in....Notice I didn't say it was perfect, just that you can now walk through it without fear of breaking your leg tripping over a toy! HA
Saturday was the Topeka Hook-In (Betty we missed you!!) and as usual I came home with tons of inspiration....What is it about a room full of women and wool that can bring out the creativeness in a person???? This Hook-In was a little different than those of the past. Judy had filled about a dozen big, clear plastic totes with pieces of wool, dividing each tote into colors. (Darks, lights, reds, blues, oranges, ect..) She then gave each women a plastic gallon sized zip lock bag and we were told we could cram as much wool in it as we could get (As long as it was even with the top) for $10. As a hint she told us to roll the wool and we should be able get in about a yard or more. As Keith will tell you, when it comes to "cramming" I'm the Queen so shoving wool in a little bag was no challenge for me! HA Would you believe I ended up doing two bags and came home with close to three yards of material???? Even Keith agreed I should have done one more bag! HA It was so much fun and a joy to watch grown women rolling and cramming wool in a small bag. One of life's simple pleasures.
Along with good food, yummy wool and dreamy patterns it was a day of friendship. There were several new girls there as well as old friends. One new gal (Who I think was "hooked" before the day was over!) raises Alpaca's and has their fleece (Is it called fleece or wool??) made into yarn. She was interesting to talk to and brought a new dimension to the day. (Amazing the things you can learn in just a few short hours...Of course I didn't learn to much or I would have know if it was fleece or wool, right?)
After hours of hooking (I have about five minutes to go and my little Halloween Cat will be done!!) it was time to pack up and spend hours shopping in Topeka! I hate shopping on the best of days but when it's cold like it was Saturday, it's even worse. However, when you live an hour from a major shopping area, you have no choice but to shop until you drop. Of course the worse problem is coming home, carrying it all in and then putting it away! GROAN I swear it take me two days to find a place for everything we buy!
At long last life is back to normal so now I can work on some fun things. On that note I'll head in and pick up my hook and hopefully by this time tomorrow another project will be completed and another started. Everyone stay warm and safe. Blessings, Sher

It is good to hear you had so much fun! I wish I could have been there to join in the wool commotion! Maybe Judy will do it again soon. Of course, I'm planning on being at the next hook-in!
Smiles,
Betty

Boy it is cold here in our little spot today! Thursday is really supposed to be bad. I am thankful for the nice days we seem to have inbetween.
