I'm Meltingggggg..................
It's now official....I'm ready to skip the cool days of fall and go straight to winter!!!!   I'm serious girls, I can not take these hot days any longer.    Kids are whining and fighting, Keith and I have NO energy and life as we know it is over!   I try telling myself that when the winter snows are blowing I'll be longing for these days but the truth is I honestly don't think so.   I love cold weather and the older I get the more I love it!    I love being snowed in surrounded by my latest crafting project with something yummy smelling in the oven.   I love watching the snow come down, hearing the fireplace crackle and knowing that we're all safe and cozy in our little house.    Just thinking about it makes my heart sing.    Of course it's back to reality....The sun is shinning, it's hot out and I'm stuck in this house and not in a good way!!!!
I am going to be taking a little break from this house....Yes, Jo-Jo, Betty has talked me in to going to the Topeka hook-in.  (If your reading this please e-mail me so we can "talk"!)    Actually, I had planned to talk her into it after reading your comment so she didn't have to twist my arm to far.   I've never been to this one and I'm curious as to what all we see and do.   Please tell me there's tons of wool to buy????   (I'll make sure to stop at the ATM machine before arriving! HA)   I'm already busy planning what foods I'll bring.   I just pray it's cooled down some before the hook-in date!  I'd hate to arrive so hot I can't enjoy myself. ;-)
This heat has really thrown my menu's off! (It's so hot no one wants to eat!   When no one in this house is hungry you know it's HOT!!)   I finally got around yesterday and picked up where I had left off.   Actually I tried two new recipes yesterday.   I did a Taco Lasagna and an Oatmeal Cherry Crisp for dessert.   Both recipes were 'keepers' and something I'll definitely do again.   Tonight I'll be trying a Honey Glazed Chicken.   Sounds really good!   This also might be a good time to add I'm really loving my little Toaster/Oven.   It allows me to "bake" without heating up this whole house!
Well girls, I hung a load of colored towels out an hour ago so I best get them in before they start to sun-fade.   I pray your weather is cooler than ours and just remember, in a few months it will be fall!   Until then.....   Hugs from Sunny Kansas!   Sher

2008-Jul-26 - Sher, I want to email you

But my laptop isn't configured for the email editor that your blog wants to use. I'm kinda hesitant to give my email here so is there any way you can get my email from Betty? If not, I'll have to try something else.

I think it's great that you're going to take a break and come to the hook-in. I'm sooo looking forward to seeing you and Betty again and think you'll have a really good time. And yes, Judy has tons of wool for you to take advantage of. Wool, patterns, hooks, books, whatever your little heart desires. So yes, bring your checkbook or stop at the ATM.

P.S. I'm as tired of the hot weather as you are. Ready for FALL!! I'm getting cabin fever from hiding in the house.

2008-Jul-26 - Hugs from Alabama

Posted by HopefulHeart77

It is really hot here today too. We went to the airport this morning to take my youngest daughter. She is flying home to her husband. He has been out of the country on military training so we have had the pleasure of her company. I am feeling separation anxiety. Ms. JoJo you could send a private message giving your email address to the Old Crow Farm. (Just a suggestion) I love the hot weather and hate the cold so I am happy with the weather. I do hope it cools down in Kansas for you soon! I will be telling you all about Alabama soon. Thanks for your patience.
