Bloomers, Bloomers Everywhere......

With the cold days of winter, the need for the panteloons and bloomers has finally reached it's priority status. So, I have spent most of the day sewing them. We now have several pair of them ready to wear.

For Abbie, I made a slight alteration in the basic bloomers. I made them more like the old style that has "growth pleats" in the legs. These pleats are basically little folds in the legs that as Abbie grows, I can let them out one row at a time to lengthen the legs. The bloomers also have the elastic waist done in a way that will be easy for me to adjust later on. I used a pattern for size 3T to make them and then scaled the leg length and waist down to Abbie's size of 12 months. These are really cute. I have the elastic in the lower part of the leg to form a ruffle. The elastic there is just enough to make a soft gathering in the ruffle.

When I am able to get more fabric, I will make her some camisoles also to layer under her outfits. For now, the little t-shirts are working in helping her stay warm.

I have been working on my family website again. I updated a few things on it. Added recipes and also some new things to my homesewn offerings page. I am now offering cloth menstrual pads in addition to my other offerings.
