Homesteading: A Woman's Journey

Abigail Update

I am totally amazed as I watch Abbie grow and develop.  It seems as lately, there has been something new happening each day.

About 2 weeks ago, she crawled for the first time.  Abit timidly, but she did it.  Over the days since  then, she has grown more confident and now is crawling all over the place.   It is fun to watch the way she goes from the timid first attempts to the confident quick movements that she has now.

Yesterday, she sat up completely on her own for the first time.  What a joy to see her do this.  Today, as I watch her sit in her playpen and play with toys that up until now she hasn't been able to fully enjoy has been such a blessing.  She has reached another milestone.   She is able to sit for quite a long time without any aid.

While I am thoroughly enjoying these moments, Joe and I are both looking forward to her learning to walk.   She already stands very well, just hasn't realised yet that she is able to do it on her own.  We give very little aid, just having our hands on her enough that she is able to feel us holding her.  The real work of standing, she is doing on her own.

Tomorrow, when Joe returns home for the holiday, he will have to lower the crib mattress.  With as quickly as Abbie is learning these new achievements, we will need to be prepared for the next one.

I thank the Lord each day for this precious blessing of having Abbie in our life.  She is such a joy to us.  Watching her grow and develop is humbling when we realise just how much work a baby has to do to be able to move about as we do.

Enjoy every minute of her growing and learning. They grow up soooo fast. Mine are 22, 23, and 13. I would love to have them crawling around again.
Have a great holiday.
