Homesteading: A Woman's Journey

A Special Weekend

This weekend is going by so quickly.  Joe got home Friday afternoon.  Saturday, we spent the morning resting up before we had to run our errands.  By the time we got home it was quite late.

This morning, we had to get up early.  I was alittle late getting up because of having a rough night with my Fibromyalgia.  We still managed to get to church early.  We were there in time for the Discipleship class before church services.

Today was a very special day for us.  At church, Abigail was blessed.  It was a beautiful ceremony that Pastor Mike performed.  Abbie was so quiet and kept watching Pastor Mike as he spoke and gave prayers.  It also happened to be a week that they have communion.  They're giving us a video of the blessing ceremony.  We hope to show it to her Grandparents soon.

Joe picked up some more tapes at church.  Each Sunday's sermon is recorded onto cassette tapes so that if you miss a week or if you know of a shut-in, you can check out the tapes to listen to during the week.  Joe likes taking them with him when on the road so that he can listen to past sermons each day.  I listen to them also in the evenings here at home.  Many times, Joe and I will listen to them together on the weekends.

Over the past week and also today, we have been greatly blessed with others gifting us with things for Abigail.  They all had baby girl clothing that their little ones can no longer fit into, so they passed them along to us.  What a blessing!!!  One of the gals also included a walker which Abbie loves playing in.  Another gal, who I met through Freecycle, gave us fabric for me to use on the little quilts that I am making for a local organization.  Freecycle has blessed us many times with not only what we have been able to find, but also the things we are able to pass along to others.

Tomorrow will be a busy day for us.  I am making fruit danishes tonight for us to take to Joe's parents in the morning so we can visit and share breakfast.  Later on, Joe is hoping to get some of the weeds cut down while I get some work done inside.  We will probably have a bar-be-que later in the afternoon.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday tomorrow.

Paula
