Today was a difficult one

Today I took my little Abigail to get her innoculations. Why does something that is supposed to be so good for her have to make her so sick afterwards? It is so hard as a parent to purposely put your baby through something that you know will make her ill. I feel so guilty about it. She received her DTP, Polio, PVC, Hib, and Hep B. These are the same shots that she got a couple of months ago. They gave her a fever which lasted 4 days total and for the first day or so, she had trouble holding her formula down. Tonight, she has the fever and has gotten sick twice. I am feeding her alittle at a time now to hopefully make it easier for her belly to tolerate. She is also taking Infant Tylenol drops for the fever and tenderness in the shot areas. Thankfully, she is finally asleep. For now anyways. If it gets too bad tonight, I will end up taking her to bed in our room so that she will be close if she needs me to comfort her.

On the lighter side, I fixed the tail light in our car. Okay, so it isn't a huge thing, but for me, it is. It felt good to be able to replace the bulb so that my beloved wouldn't have to do it this weekend.

I feel your pain. I hated having to get my son shots when he was younger. My doctor suggested giving him a dose and a half of children's Tylenol 1 hour before getting the shots, then another dose 4 hours after getting them. My son never had a fever or got any of the side effects that potentially come with getting innoculations. It may be worth a try with you. I hope your little one gets better.
