We're Headed for the Fair-the Schaghticoke Fair!
It's fair time in Rensselaer County, NY, folks, and we hope to see you there.  The gates open at noon on Wednesday, August 30, and close Labor Day evening.  You can catch spinning demonstrations through out the fair both in the Sheep and Goat barn (which is also housing llamas this year!) and in the NYS Products Building.  Come armed with questions, comments, and if you want to join us in the sheep barn to spin, bring a drop spindle.  We will be working with 4-Hers from the Wild Things club to promote spinning as a fun, portable hobby.  For all you knitters and crocheters out there, do you shudder at the price of the beautiful exotic yarn out there, while longing to get your hands on it to make that special scarf or shawl?  Try spinning your own!!!  Think of the satisfaction you could get from going from sheep to shawl all on your own, that wonderful sense of accomplishment.  Come ask us how to make that dream come true, right there at the Schaghticoke Fair.
