Such strong thunderstorms rolled through lastnight, but we did get some much needed rain, and my garden and flowers really enjoyed the good soaking! The rain was good timing, dh had just gotten done chopping hay, usually it starts to pour after it is cut and still on the ground! Today I am busy with laundry and finishing up the rest of my strawberries, freezing some, making some jam and some strawberry muffins and strawberry bread also. I would like to do some weeding in the garden, so much easier to pull when the ground it wet!!! I do need to run into town for a few things this morning and work a few hours this evening. Still have some things to do for dd graduation party this weekend, but for the most part alot of it will be done on Friday. mostly cold salads and alot of people are bringing things also. Well enough rambling for this morning, need to get going on these strawberries!!! Have a great day!! Heart of my Home

The heart of my home has always been my kitchen. Over the years I have heard that saying alot, and when thinking about it, that is where my heart has been alot!! Preparing meals for my family, sharing good news and heartaches as well. Enjoying friends and families company! When friends and family do come this is the one room where everyone seems to gather! I love to make this room as cozy and I can, seeing as I spend so much of my time here!!! Hope you like the pictures as much as I love to spend my time in here!

I am Marie from NY where my husband and I have a small farm in a even smaller town where there are more cows that people! Two small stores in town and not even a stop light, just a caution light, a bank and a post office! But we love it, wouldn't trade it for anything. My husband farms, he also is a logger during the winter months. I work part time as all of our children are grown and either off to college or have families of thier own now. I love to garden and always have a large vegetable garden, I also love to can lots of fruits and vegetables to put up for the winter months. I do alot of crocheting, quilting, sewing, embroidery, and reading. I would love to learn to bake bread, but every time I have tried, I have failed miserably at it, like trying to take a knife to a rock..lol!!! so if you have a great recipe, I would love to give it a try! I look forward to meeting some new friends. Marie |
