What a beautiful early Sunday, 13 Jan 08 morning......

It truely is beautiful outside. It's in the low 20's and there is a fresh inch or two of snow covering our part of the world. I peeked my head out a bit ago to try to wake up (no, it didn't work LOL) and there was a wonder smell of "fresh snow" out there. It was snowing when I came in to work - made for a slow and steady drive but I made it without a problem. I love gazing at fresh snow on pine trees. I don't know if it's the white against the green or just the way the snow enhances the beauty of a pine tree.

I've been doing well with my weekly cleaning with the exception of I've scheduled a bit too heavy on the days that I've worked all night. Just not enough get up and go to complete all the tasks. I've been getting them done by the end of the week tho. Yesterday I was sooooo very tired. Friday night was extreemly busy at work and I went in 3 hours early. Uff da. I felt so old yesterday - body hurt and I was tired. I looked at my laundry, laughed and did just enough to get me thru the remainder of the weekend LOL. Taffy and I went for a short walk - much to her dismay. Hey, at least I went LOL. Dinner was stir-fry chicken and veggies. I was going to make rice but yesterday morning realized my slow cooker died. It was old and on it's last leg anyway. I love making brown rice in the slowcooker when I work. I make a bit extra to freeze in small containers for other meals or to add to soup. Any way, I didn't have the energy to fix it the regualr way. I'll have the leftovers for dinner tonite. Doubt I'll do the rice today either LOL.

Depending when I get out of work this morning, I'd like to go to church at 0800. Usually I get back to town and to church with 5-10 min to spare before services. It also varies as to how much I get out of it as sometimes I'm quite tired. Brings me to a question - which is better???? On the weekends I work all night is it better to make the effort to go to church and fight to stay awake and not get much out of it or simply go home, say my prayers, go to bed and have quiet meditation time when I get up??? I'm torn. I don't always have to fight to stay awake and pastor fully understands my predicument. I sit in the back so if I do inadvertantly doze off I'm not distracting anyone. LOL, on mornings I do doze briefly or am having a hard time staying awake, he smiles and as I'm leaving after worship he gently chuckles and tells me to go home and get some rest. On communion Sundays there's always the gentle smile then too.

Fortunately today is my dedicated day of rest so no matter which I decide, I'll be well rested for my last day of work this weekend.  Monday after a little nap will be my laundry day. I really need to shave the pile down LOL. I'm changing sheets this week also. This week is kitchen and dinning room week. The dinning room won't take much effort at all but the kitchen??? Uff da, the kitchen! That's a horse of a different color LOL. I'm planning on downsizing a LOT of stuff. The Goodwill will be happy with me - as will as the other thrift shop. I've way too much silverware, cups, glasses and other dishes so will gladly box them up for those places.

Well, best go straighten the linen closets. I'll see you all tonite. Have a great day and God Bless each of you!!

Michele

Every time I drop by here, I read something that blesses my heart!
It is so lovely to hear of your day of rest, and dedication to your home. I too, am downsizing my kitchen and giving away things that I do not use. There is something so wonderful about sparkling counter tops, and the look of an organized cabinet.
God bless, Mistypearl
