Well, so started another week. Had an uneventful weekend. Putzed around the house but did nothing major. We had a January thaw with temps almost 40 and rain. Everything has that "ugly" look of being dirty and I'm dreaming of spring and my gardens. It's way too soon but I'm very tempted to toss a couple of seeds in some dirt and begin that process. Hmmmmm....... Ok, I know better LOL. Seriously, it's suppose to cool back off to the low 20's for a high by the weekend.  Wonder what the rest of the winter will bring. All of the winter outdoor fanatics are having cows because the snow has melted into a puddle of mush. Hard to believe that a week ago it was sub zero temps. I've rescued my "Carrots Love Tomatoes" book from the bacement and will be reading that to satisfy my "craving".

Sunday I cooked a chicken. I initially thought..... "why cook this thing just for me??" but then it hit me that I deserve a good meal, baked the chicken, when it was almost done, chunked some spuds and carrots in the roaster and roasted until the veggies were done. Made a small butternut squash in my toaster oven and I was all set for a very yummy meal. I got out a good plate and treated myself LOL.  Had leftovers last night and will make a nice pot of yummy soup today. Mmmmmm, can smell it simmering already LOL. I'll keep enough out for two meals and can the rest. Oh, I almost forgot, I made bread Satruday. I made two loaves of honey whole wheat. It's the first time I've done 100% whole wheat so was nervous about it not turning out. Well, I needn't have worried. It's sooooooo good. Esp toasted with some home made jam or jelly on top.

Yesterday I cleaned my room and did laundry.  I had initially planned on using 2 1/2 days to deep clean but I had energy yesterday so did some rearanging, put up my curtains and cleaned off the dressers. Today I'll straighten the drawers and closet and change the sheets. I If I feel up to it, I'll also start in the bathroom. Have to get some sleep at some point.  I'm liking this calander schedule that has things "zoned" out and do a little each day. I'm still able to do the day to day chores with the extras. I'm finding I have more time for fun and relaxing things like working on my cookbook.

Well, I'd better get up and move around as I'm starting to get sleepy. God's blessings to each of you and have a wonderful day!!!

Hi! That dinner sounds fab, and I have too, have the gardening bug! Hubby has to rein me in with a reality check once in a while, but oh, I can hardly stand the wait! We spent some time last weekend looking through catalogs, and making Wish lists. I hope I don't get carried away, like I did year before last! We had enough squash to feed an army, and I ran out of room, and neighbors to give the surplus to, LOL!
Have a great day,
Mistypearl
