Good morning friends. Just waiting for my coffee to get done and I'll bundle up and join Taffy outside. It's a balmy 17 above zero out there this morning so that will be refreshing.

Well, coffee's done and spent a bit of time outside. Not too bad. It's cloudy and smells damp. They got snow to the south so I'm guessing that's why. Very quiet out there. It seems odd not to hear birds chirping while I'm out.

Yesterday was very productive. I got the living room just about completely done and I can just about see the bottom of the laundry bins. My only thought on this...... Have you ever busted your tushy only to feel like a maid in your own home??? No "jee that looks great, thanks for doing my month old stinky laundry, here let me help, oh, I spilled I'll clean it up, I used the last spoon (again) so I'd better wash some........", I tell ya, by last evening I'd had it around here so made the mistake of going to my mother's to bring over the last of the gifts. When I got back, wet towels on the dinning room floor, (yes, not the bathroom floor but my dinning room carpeted floor!)  bathroom counter had makeup on it, dishes repiled in the sink, and low and behold she'd eaten both packages of cream cheese I had bought on sale this week for cookies and holiday treats - gone and even tho they were on sale, my budget doesn't say I can buy more at this point. Of course she wasn't home, leaving a note saying she felt much better and went shopping (even tho she stayed home from school with a "cold")......... Ok, enough pity party.

Today I'll finish the laundry. I really do enjoy doing laundry. It's a sickness I'm jokingly told LOL. Taking something dirty (and sometimes quite smelly) and in the end, pulling it out of the dryer or off the line and taking in a big wiff of clean. Then lovingly folding it and putting it in it's place where eventually it's worn again - all clean, neat and smelling good. I don't know how else to describe it.

I'll attack the bathroom and kitchen with the ole scrub brush and baking soda scrub, thro in a dash of vinegar and that will be complete. Due to the pets, I must vacuum today as well.

Dinner will be either Turkey Burgers or Chicken casserol. Depends how my blood sugars go today. I have to admit, grilled Turkey Burgers and steamed green beans sound mighty tasty. I am out of the ground turkey I made but have some Jeno Turkey Burgers in the freezer as back up. Sometimes our grocery has them on sale or Walmart practally gives them away because they are a day before the sell date so I stock up as I love them and they fit nicely into my diet. I rarely use ground beef. If I need ground meat and am out, I'll thaw a few turkey patties and cook them up. Works for me. The organic turkeys were outragiously priced this year so I picked up a couple of the ole Butterball for .69/lb at Walmart. I diced most of the dark meat for soups and casseroles and the white meat and remaining dark meat I ground in my little chopper/grinder. I found that if I partially re-froze my chunks they ground better. I'll use part turkey and part ground venison in my meatloaf and other meals calling for ground meat. I'd love to get a "real" grinder but that's on my "wish I had but don't NEED" list.
