TGIF! 12 October 2007

Good morning everyone. I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted. Bad Michele!! LOL. Let's see:

Boy, it's sure fall now! High yesterday was in the low 40's. Not at all like those 80's last week. It's been rainy and gloomy all week but of course have to be greatful for the precip. We are almost up to where we are suppose to be for the month but still very low on the year. So many lakes are extreemly low.

Tackled Mt Washmore and conquered!! LOL I changed out seasonal clothing and got out the nice cozy flannel sheets Also pulled out the winter wool blankets. Did a quick inventory on gloves and heavy socks. Taffy only "played" with one pair LOL. She did well last year.

Yesterday I made DD's Birthday cake - her birthday is next Saturday but since she's working at the Haunted House my mother is letting her have a small party at their house. Nice for me as they are doing most of the work. It's family and about 3 of DD's friends - the nice ones. Anyway, I made a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting as requested. I even took the time to make some roses and a few other flowers. Well, it fit well into the cake saver my mother lent me - I took it over to the house before work and low and behold, the top smooshed a few of the roses. DD loved the cake and agreed the candles could go there. Whew!!!

Well, I'll share my little mishap of  the week : Sometime Monday night / early Tuesday morning a spider tried sharing my bed and didn't like that I rolled over on it and bit me on the left thigh. It's a bit red, hard and itches like crazy!!!! Uff da. Been using Benadryl and putting warm compresses on it. I know it was a spider because I saw the poor squished little thing when I made the bed. Yuck!

Well, happy birthday to all in October! Goodness, October is a busy month of birthdays. My brothers both have October birthdays - the first and the tenth - my dd on the 20'th, my Grandmother on the 21'st, my uncle on the 14th (I believe) and a bunch of anniversaries as well.

I'm fortunate enough to be off now until next Friday. What does this week hold???? Well, I've about 15 pounds of venison stew meat left from last year's bounty so will be making a huge pot of it and canning a bunch of quarts.  Hopefully we will have a day or two of weather that I can do final winter prep outside, and of course the usual weekly chores.
