TGIF!! July 20,2007

Good Morning everyone. Been busy here on my end. I've been cleaning out closets and painting them, adding fresh liners and tossing a whole lot of garbage! Uff da, I can't believe how much I've been saving for no reason. That and because I got lazy just tossed it in a closet. Man oh man! That is slowly changing. I'm getting a huge incentive to do this as I think I've found thee house. It's 10 miles east of work, a cute little 2 bedroom with 9 acres. Level, part grassy, part woodsy on a quiet road with the nearest neighbor about 1/2 mile up the road. Nice and peaceful. I haven't looked at it officially yet but did do a drive by and pulled in the driveway (it's vacant) and had a quick look see. Just what I'm looking for. Plenty of garden area, chickens are allowed, and plenty of space for Taffy to play. I'm waiting as I've a lot to do yet on my current house and it's really given me incentive to get back into it. If it was meant to be, it'll still be there and available when I'm ready to look at it. I've prayed hard and put it in God's hands. I'll be content with whatever he decides. I do have 2 backup homes as well but they are within the city limits. We'll see. In the meantime I'll be hard at work cleaning and minor repairing.
Today I'll be up at 11am as I have a chiropractor apt. After that I'll clean church. At home my plan is to finish taking stuff I'm keeping or need to put away in the bacement so I can tackle my next project - the hall walls and trim. The walls have so many dings and such that I found after removing the ugly wall paper and looks awful and uneven. I've some "spackle" type plaster for the walls to put on with a trowel, let dry, lightly sand and prime and paint. I did try a small portion of a wall and really like the results. Wasn't hard to do at all so am confident it will go quickly. The trim.... sigh.... the previous owner took down the floor trim and around the bathroom and closet doors and put up cheap "oak looking" trim. She left the old trim around the bedroom doors. Doesn't match at all so since I'm on a very tight budget will prime and paint all the trim to match. Will also need to do the doors as those don't match either. Then I'll have to paint the ceiling. Now mind you I won't do that all in one day, but I'll be able to get a good start. Dinner will be turkey legs in the crock pot.
Tomorrow I'll do some laundry and hang it up - never ending process isn't it? Farmer's Market opens at 8am so will for sure go there. The corn vendors are out so I'm hoping my favorite vendor has his corn ready. It's the best I've ever tasted, and it's organic. Have a hankering for fresh brocolli too. Mine isn't quite ready. I'm hoping also to score some fresh eggs. Every once in a while there's someone there with some. You can certainly tell the "true free range" and those who claim free range yet stuff grains and junk down the chicken's throat. Free range to them means they don't keep them in a cage but keep them crouwded in a pen. Yup, to them that's free range. Anything to make a buck yet they get angry when their flock needs antibiotics (or so they think) or some get sick. Go figure. Sorry, I've sort of gotten off track. Don't get me started on that or the Bovine Growth Hormone!!! Uff da, that makes my blood boil!
Oh, I'll also try to spend an hour or two cleaning out the spare room on the main level. Hoping to move my daughter from the stuffy upstairs before the heat wave next week. No matter what I do it's so hot and stuffy up there in the summer. Of course it doesn't help the room's a complete sty. After I move her down, I'll go up and disinfect the whole upstairs and start the minor repairs up there.
Weather has been clearer than predicted. No rain. The storms have stayed south of us. It was VERY hot and humid most of the week. Yesterday was very refreshing. Next week is suppose to be even worse. Yuck!.
Am counting down to the 3rd when I leave for Diabetes Camp. Got my volunteer packet for the Medical Staff in the mail Tuesday. I'm so excited. It's so much fun!
Well, better go do some chores. Have a great day everyone!
