Happy Independance Day everyone!!! God Bless America! Am sending up extra prayers today in thanks for those who have and currently are giving the utmost for our freedom. I pray daily but will give it an extra today. To those of you with family members in the military, Thank You goes to you as well. So often we take everything we have for granted and wish for more. What more could we need??? I know I'm ashamed when I long for more than what I have. I should be thankful I have a roof over my head, food in my pantry, cloths on my back and two good jobs to keep my head above water. I've my health, semi-decent insurance, a truck that runs and the common sense that God gave me.
Yesterday I made some preperations for today's soggy celebration. I made a huge batch of tuna salad - half with and half without onions. I also made a crockpot of beans which should be about done in the slow cooker. Depending how juicy they are I'll put them in the oven for a bit. I also canned cherries and made a batch of cherry jam. For cleaning chores, did a mountain of dishes, 2 loads of laundry, and cleaned half the church. Our Pastor's daughter is getting married this Saturday so am trying to have things look extra nice. She (the bride) is VERY dissapointed that she couldn't invite her church family but as it is the church will be filled to bursting with just family.
Has been getting warm again with high humidity. It did rain a bit last evening with a good Thunderstorm to coax it along. Right now at 5:40am it's cloudy and hazy and a temp of 64. Scattered Thunderstorms this morning and then suppose to clear up.I just hope DD gets to do her part in the parade at 11am. She's in the Color Guard and they have been practicing very hard to get the routine down.
I'll sleep until noonish then take care fo chores. Go to the folks aroound 1 or 2 for the annual cookout, spend time with the family, go to my brother's for a swim (he just lives down the road from the folks) teach my 2yo niece to spit watermellon seeds, my Dad will have a bon fire and at dusk they will shoot off fireworks. Don't know if I"ll get to see them or not but depends on how soon they'll light them as I'm working tonite.
Had a Amber alert in our state yesterday and praise the Lord we just got a fax here in the ER that the 4 children have been found and are safe and sound. Thank God! They ranged ages 4 to 17. Sigh..... it again makes me wonder what kind of world we live in.
Well, wishing everyone a joyous 4th. Stay safe and remember to say an extra prayer for those who gave and continue to give in our behalf for our freedom.
Love and Fuzzies!!!
