Good Morning all!

Good Morning everyone. Hope all are well. Had a fairly nice week off. It's been busy here at work thus far this weekend. Holiday weekends usually are pretty steady. We have a LOT of tourists in town right now and of course many of them frequent our ER. Many are amazed that they don't have to sit around for an hour or more before they are seen. I couldn't fathom waiting for four hours to be treated - of course there are so many that aren't "true emergencies". No broken bones, no gushing blood, not an MI, ect..... simple "I've had a cough for a month so I'll wait until 3am on a Sat morning to have it checked or I was diagnosed with ..... two months ago but never filled the prescription so I'll come in at 0200 after drinking all night and ask for those meds now" Usually it doesn't bother me but some nights it's a little irritating.

Lets see, My week off was actually quite uneventful. Monday and Tuesday were too hot and muggy to really do much of anything. My asthma was agrivated by the humidity so didn't feel like doing anything. Took Taffy swimming (ok, I swam while she chased the fish and frogs LOL) a couple times each day. That was quite refreshing. Caught up on the laundry - first time in months there wasn't any piles :) Amazing!! Wednesday was cooler (it had rained Tuesday night) so putzed around the house, cleaned up the dehydrators from the winter storage, took Taffy walking and swimming, then mowed my folks lawn as they were still gone. It was nice to use a riding john deer mower LOL. Thursday I picked 56 pounds of strawberries (ok, 15 were for my Aunt and another 15 for my mother), dehydrated 2 dryers full (each with extra trays), made 2 batches of low sugar jam, sliced up 12 pints and then had 8 pints of chopped sauce. Whew!!! I'm hoping to put up more of the sauce and maybe freeze a few packages. I'll maybe pick after work on Monday morning if it's not raining. At $1.06 a pound I can handle it. They are much cheaper as well as much nicer than those in the store.

Friday I babysat my 4 month old niece for 4 hours. It was such fun. She's such a sweetie. Put her in the stroller and walked up and down the street - she loved it!! Put away the dehydraters until harvest and finished cleaning up the kitchen from Thursdays strawberry escapade LOL. I'm still finding strawberry spatters. Yesterday I slept (of course) and seperated a basket of dirty laundry by the washer. Monday's coming full speed LOL. Today I'll sleep and then hopefully feel up to taking Taffy for her walk/swim. I wasn't up for it yesterday. Had a touch of something. Have a good start on my pantry list. I had originally had a list for a year's worth of supplies but will need to downsize to 6 months worth this fall. I'm just not financially secure - even with picking things up on sale and using generic. I cut corners where ever possible but am still finding myself behind. I've put my trust in the Lord and am doing the best I can.

Well, off to do my chores. Just wanted to check in and say hi. Have a wonderful day everyone!!

It worked
