Good early morning everyone. Had a huge storm pass thru around 3pm yesterday. 60 mph winds and torrential down pours. Uff da. They even set off our tornado siren. Taffy was outside just before it hit and no amount of coaxing would bring her in until that first "boom" then it was all over for her - poor pooch. She's very afraid of storms.

Looked at that house yesterday. Had potential until I went into the bacement and saw the black mold. Been there, done that, don't want to do it again. There was a huge wet spot on the floor and up about 2 feet was black mold. Not good.  Well, question, If your going to sell a house, wouldn't it make sense to condense your belongings and clean the house??? This house was dirty and sooooo packed with stuff you couldn't really get close to anything to check it out. The cupboards were so full of "stuff" that when I opened one a bunch of junk fell out. Tried opening the drawers and same thing A bunch of junk popped up and the realitor and I had a heck of a time packing it back in to close it back up. Uff da. The realitor was going to speak to the owner about the renters he has in it to see if they'd clean it up a bit. I can look past clutter and mess, but this was well beyond clutter. Yuck. Sigh.... Will keep looking. There were other issues in the bacement too. The realitor gave me some sheets on other homes in the area - will do some "drive bys" in the morning before I head home.

I"m sitting here enjoying a piece of Angel Food Strawberry desert the nurse I'm working with brought in for my birthday. She's sooo considerate and brings in treats that as a diabetic I can have every now and again. This is one of them. Ok, it does have Splenda in it which normally I turn my nose at but she doesn't use much in this recipe and it's the only time I'll allow it into my body. I don't want her to feel bad as she's such a sweet person. She's going to give me the recipe and I'll see if I can "tweek" it to my lifestyle. I don't normally eat a lot of deserts and sweets but, oh, say once a month I get a hankerin for something on the sweet side other than my daily dose of fruit. It's then that I'll make a batch of cookies. I'm not much for cake but cheesecake, look out. I really enjoy a good cheesecake. A little dab will do me and I'm a happy camper. The rest gets divided up into very small single servings and put in the freezer for another day. Nice to have for company too.

Big day today. Will drive by a couple houses, clean up the kitchen, need to make some juice, it's sheet day, and I need to scrub out the garbage cans. I'll take a nap, clean church then treat myself to a birthday movie. Whew, I'm a little tired just thinking of it LOL. The morning chores won't take long tho. I'm off tonite so will be able to get some good sleep. The weather is predicted to be rainy so I won't be tempted to be outside which will help. Saturday I'll clean/scrub out the dining room. I've a new book shelf for my cookbooks and recipes I'll put together (ok, I've had it for 2 months now and haven't put it together LOL) the bathroom needs a good scrubbing out too. Will do a "lick and a promise" in the living room and probably call it a day with house work. If the weather holds, my niece and I  have a "date" to plant the garden. Should be fun. Sunday will be church then a family picinic at either my brother's or my dad's house.  Monday will be devoted to Mt. Washmore. I may just stay in the bacement and do some sorting and organizing while the washer purs.
