Good Morning everyone! Hope all had a blessed past couple days. I took Thursday and rested. I didn't feel very well - my allergies had my sinuses so plugged and painful. I was absolutely miserable. It hurt to even sit up and try to read. Uff da. Went to my chiropractor yesterday and she worked some magic so I am feeling much better tonite. Not all better, but I can at least stand to be awake.

I deviated from my menu plan a bit. Had the grilled chicken and veggies last night. After I got the grill lit and going, I thought "how stupid am I??" Here I am with a nice fire going in the grill and the wind is blowing and everything is dryer than I don't know what. Jeesh! I made sure I had the hose ready to go in case something went amiss. I was saying a few prayers as my dinner cooked let me tell ya. I hosed down my grill until it was dripping. I left it out of the garage for the night just in case. Things were fine when I left for work. Whew!!

Even with the dry conditions the trees are leafing out nicely. My perineals are coming up and looking healthy. The grass is green and already needs mowing but I think I'll wait until after we get some rain. I've still a LOT to do in my back yard.  That sumac is still waiting for me to yank it out. Other weeds are popping up as well. Wildlife does seem to like it back there tho. I had a couple deer bed down Thursday night and the rabbit love to romp around back there. I have a beautiful cardinal that comes to visit as well.

I have to share a funny story. I had 8 or 9 really nice young tomato plants that I kept on a small table in front of the dining room window. They were doing quite nicely. Well, as I was on the phone Thursday I noticed I only had 6 and when I looked closer, one of those 6 was just a stem. I couldn't figure out for the life of me what was going on. No leaves, no stems save the one, nothing looked amis....... I was stumped. I don't have mice or other rodents that would have chewed them......... Hmmmmm. I called my mother and she mentioned that cats liked to eat tomato plants. Well, I blamed it on my youngest of the two (she's 4 and usually naughty) and told my mother I'd bring the remaining over in the morning. Morning came and low and behold I had 4 plants left. The rest were empty cups. I scolded Jersey, went down to toss in some laundry, came back up and to my total suprise, here's my Darla Kitty (who's 10 and never naughty) up on the stand and I now have no tomato plants. I can laugh now, but at the time......... Well lets just say steam coming from my ears and not so nice thoughts were involved. So..... now I have to restart and keep them in a better place. Good thing I have a couple seeds left LOL.. I'm almost afraid.

Well, I'd better go do something. Hope all have a great day. God's Blessings and lots of warm fuzzies!!

Michele

Sorry to hear about your tomato plants. I can honestly say with the umpteen cats (mostly barn) that we have out here I have never had a problem with them eating my plants... (knock on wood). Better luck with the new seeds...
