Good morning folks! Snowy here. Just keeps coming. Should make for a fun ride home. It's been a LONG night. I'm sooooooo tired.

Since I don't come back until 11pm, I'm hoping to get a couple loads of laundry done today. My daughter has been cleaning her room and brought down a huge box of cloths to be washed. PEW! I'm afraid some of them will have to be thrown out.

I finished up my last jar of apple butter yesterday so will have to make some more. I've had great success with using unsweetened apple sauce as the base. My recipe calls for a tad of vinegar which ads a nice "punch" to the flavor. Yup, that's on my weekend list. I've got the burger for BBQ and enough tomatoes and such for spaghetti sauce. I'm running dangerously low on the sauce and am totally out of BBQ. I'm thinking chocolate chip cookies are sounding good too. Hopefully my little "baking curse" will have worn off by then LOL.

After spending a day in the bacement, I should have a good load or two for the Good Will and the dump. I hate going to the dump but if it's true trash what can you do? I reuse, recycle and mulch whenever / whatever I can. It's about time for an inventory day too. Need to see where I'm running low and figure about how much I need to plant. I do know that I'm only tossing in a little corn as there's a guy at the farmer's market who sells wonderful organic corn at a very competivie price. In fact, I usually go to him at the end of the day when he's got a bit left and ask how much for the remaining - he gladly lets me have it for the price of a dozen. How great is that??? Fresh corn, organic at that, for less than pesticide filled stuff and enough to can for winter soups, stews, casseroles, ect.... I can sometimes get a lot of organic baby youkon gold spuds or baby reds (real small) for the same deal. Sometimes it pays to go later in the day.  Helps us both as I get wonderful organic produce and they don't have to pack up leftovers.

I really miss the "goat cheese lady". She moved out of town a couple years ago. She had the most wonderful goat milk products at the market. Fresh squeeky cheese, creams, ect... Last year the guy I bought chicken and free range eggs from wasn't around. Found out he got a divorce and they sold off everything. Sigh..... Such a shame. There is a family that sells bison (buffalo). It's not too bad but is a bit pricey. Sometimes they do give a person a pretty good deal. We can also get raw honey, maple syrup, herbs, flowers, and hand crochet towels and wash rags. I feel very fortunate to be able to go every Saturday and get fresh fruits and veggies as well as other products from local producers. Am even more fortunate that there are a couple "organic" stands that are very reasonable as well as other natural products. The organic stands aren't certified yet but I know for sure that they are truely organic. I know the owners very well and have been to the farms. To get certified is soooo expencive. I know it's worth it but sometimes there's more important things in life than whether a farmer has a certificate saying the veggies , fruit and meat are "organic".

Well, my eyes are crossing. I'd better go clean something to wake up.

Love to all - and sending out those warm fuzzies!!
