Happy Easter everyone! Hope all have a blessed day no matter how you celebrate Easter. My plans for today are I'm hoping to leave work in time to make it to 0800 worship, depending how awake I feel, I may or may not stay for the Easter breakfast, my Mom is having ham and roast chicken at noon. I made a batch of Cinnamon Biscuits which I found on Crystal Miller's blog- they are wonderful!! My daughter goes to work at 2pm and then I can go to bed for a while. I'm back to work tonite so will have to sleep fast!
I colored eggs yesterday - good thing I waited until after that to make those biscuits as the eggs really smelled up the house. Not so much the eggs but the beets, red cabbage, tumeric, and spinach I used for natural coloring. Add in the vinegar and..... well, you get the idea!
Made a batch of laundry soap after getting up yesterday afternoon. I didn't realize I was out of the orange essential oil so ended up adding lavender. I know, I know, it's not the smell that gets the cloths clean but it sure enhances the joy of laundry.
I have eight healthy pear tomato plants right now. My Dad will be thrilled as these are his favorite tomatoes. My other starts are just begining to peek so won't be long and I'll have nice plants for my garden. I just can't wait to get out there and play in the dirt. Now, if only I could convince my Dad that he doesn't need to contaminate the garden space at his house with fertilizer! My brother brought me some spuds from my Aunt and Uncle's potato farm. They are from last harvest. Nice whites and some reds. It was a wonderful thought on his part to bring me the spuds but I'll really have to scrub them to remove all the pesticides. God bless him for thinking of me. I'll use them up quickly enough as my daughter loves spuds in all forms. I also have a potato bread, potato roll, donught, and cinnamon roll recipes I can use them in - not to mention I need potato water for my sourdough starter. I can also cut them up and use them as starters for more spuds.
A dear friend of mine e-mailed last evening that her son was killed in a motorcycle accident. My heart is breaking for her. Her DIL is serious with head injuries and a broken leg and possibly other injuries. Not good. Please, if you read this, just send up a little prayer for strength for Lynn. She's such a good woman and I don't know what else to do for her. Thank you!!
Well, I'd better go finish fixing the linen closets - they are a MESS! I just hate that. Drives me nuts LOL.
Hope all have a wonderful day. I know around here the Easter Bunny Association has declaired a bunny emergency and all Easter Bunnies will be wearing snow shoes LOL. We had about 4 inches in the last 48 hours. Last night we had a chopper come in for a transfer of a trauma patient and 2-3 minutes after they left they called and said they were coming back due to bad weather and zero visibility. Ended up sending the crew and patient with our second out ambulance. The pilot didn't fly out until 0430ish. Nasty!
Well, sending out special Easter warm fuzzies to everyone! Have a wonderful blessed day and remember, HE HAS RISEN!
Cool
