Good moring everyone! Hope all are well. UFF DA! What a couple weeks! I had taken vacation so I could get the floors at church waxed and ended up biting off more than I could chew! Our scrubber is about 40yrs old and doesn't strip wax very well. Needless to say, she was retired from the stripping buisness. She scrubs and buffs ok, but stripping wax is OUT!  I ended up with a bucket of stripper and my putty knife all week working over 42 hours on the main hall. I still have the large quilter's (our all purpose room)room, kitchen and back stairwell and hall to do yet. I'm tired thinking about it. Pastor is going to propose a new unit. He did say if the counsil gave him too much grief over it he'd propose they take a weeks vacation and come help scrape wax with a putty knife.  Anyway, finially laid the wax last evening and had the place put back together an hour before the Maunday Thursday Drama. Talk about cutting it close!

Worship will be twice today, a joined Good Friday Service hosted by our church and then tonite will be the Tenabrae Service. Tomorrow will be setting up for the Easter Worship celebrations then Sunday will be services with an Easter Breakfast in between. DInner at the folks at noon, take my daughter to work by 2pm then home to BED so I can get some sleep before I come back in to work. My weekend to work so..... One gripe, I work for a Catholic hospital, work every other holiday but they don't count Easter!?!?!?  How crazy is that?

Good news, on Friday a new/used gas stove was delivered to my house!!!  I'm so happy as I now have an oven again! I can bake bread in loaves and whole chickens, ect... Mind you I was able to make do with my toaster oven and was in fact quite happy with it for the last 4 months but, imagine, not having an oven?!?! I found out on Tuesday or Wednesday I was getting it Friday and suddenly that wonderful toaster oven wasn't good enough. How sad am I??? I was grateful enough that I had something to bake in and then when the grass is looking greener, bam! Hard to explain but I'm sure other's have had that happen. First thing I did was make a couple loaves of whole wheat bread. Sunday I baked a whole chicken I stuffed, a huge batch of cookies which I shared with my folks and brothers. Made Crystal Miller's recipe for cinnamon biscuits (which are a hit with my family ) on Wednesday. They have been requested for dinner on Sunday.

My tomato plants are doing well. Broccoli plants are slow but sure. Just started the squashes and such. If the current weather keeps up, I won't be planting until July! We just had 4 inches of snow here. It's been cold - right now about 5 degrees. Brrrrr. I won't complain tho, the sun shone very brightly yesterday. Made for an absolute beautiful day. Cold but beautiful! I've come up with a couple ideas for my back yard. Back in the fourties, the original owner worked at a lumber yard and used the excess sawdust he got for free as fill in the back yard. Needless to say, by the time all was said and done, there were 6-8 feet of sawdust and shavings making up the back yard. Well, it's been rotting and sinking ever since. It's a mess. I've done some in order to create a garden area, but need to get off my bum and really get on it this year. I'm picturing a beautiful back yard - will take a lot of hard work, but that's my favorite kind of work - gardening.

Well, I'm sure I've created sleepiness in more than one person's eyes so will go. Have a wonderful Good Friday everyone!
