Happy Spring!!!

Good morning everyone! I tried posting last night but was having problems. Had two nice posts that are now somewhere in cyber-space.

Had a fairly busy weekend. Made Taffy's "Milk Bones" - three whole batches. My toaster oven was a trooper that's for sure. In the last batch I tossed in a handful of dehydrated shredded carrots. They turned out good and Taffy loves them. I hope others that try the recipe I posted have as good of luck as I.

After two days of eating soup, I finally ended up canning 6 pints of it. It'll be real good on a day I don't feel like cooking. Tonite for dinner it'll be grilled salmon. I season it with a little sea salt, pepper, garlic and fresh tarragon if I have some. Then put it on a soaked hickory board, top with thin sliced lemon and place the board right on the grill. Cook til it flakes - mmmmmmm good. There's some small chunks of wood I found in the corner of the garage so now is a good time for grilling. I may also cook up the chicken breast I have and use it for salad. That'll be good.

This weekend the geese started coming back. Sure was nice to hear that kind of honking LOL. Weather is warming. We're suppose to be getting rain and thunderstorms today then Sunday and Monday. Music to my ears. Best sleeping weather if you ask me. Taffy on the other hand doesn't like them much. She cowers in the bacement or under my covers. Doesn't like them at all. It will be so nice when the green comes out as well as the blooms of spring. My tulips don't dare peek up yet. Not till mid April. Those tomato seeds found their way into pots over the weekend. While I didn't get the spare room cleaned out, there was room on the spare table by the front door. The broccoli, cauliflower and kolahrabi are soaking now. By Friday they should be in pots as well. Then the cukes and squashes will take a turn, as well as the flower seeds I've found. I was excited to find the pansy and morning glory seeds as those are my favorites. Marigolds are a must tho as my Grandmother (God rest her soul) always said that a garden isn't a garden without marigolds. Funny thing is, she hated them. Said they stunk! LOL. I know that the rabbits and deer don't care for them so they are a staple in both the flower and veggie gardens.

My living room ended up getting the spring clean this weekend. I couldn't stand the floor anymore so scrubbed until the water stayed clean. Uff da, I went thru a LOT of rags! Also washed down the walls and woodwork. Am keeping a list of things that need to be taken care of for each room as it's cleaned. The biggest thing in the livingroom is the ceiling needs painting. The walls need a touch-up here and there but nothing major. The floor must get finished too. It'll look so nice when it's done.

Well, ya all have a wonderful couple days. I'm off until Friday night. I've some frustration to work out so will be busy scraping more wallpaper and paint off the dinning room wall. My daughter violated her probation again and ended up in custody last evening. Uff da that girl! Some how, someone's gotta get thru to her. So frustrating. It helps a LOT to do something physical. I'll go work out at the YMCA in the morning, try to nap, then scrape, scrape, scrape.

Your garden sounds lovely, and I wish you the very best with it!
