Good morning all. It's 0300 here and all's well. Had another 3-4 inches of snow yesterday but nothing major. I keep telling myself that Spring WILL come - eventually.
I'm still feeling queasy so just had a little yogurt for breakfast yesterday. I was in bed by 0800 (just a reminder, I work 11pm-7am) and pretty much slept until I had to get up for work last night. Uff da! I must have needed the sleep but skipping meals when you're diabetic is not such a good thing. I'm having some chicken noodle soup right now.
Today's agenda will be to once again tackle that never ending Mt. Washmore after I sleep a bit. I'm thinking meatloaf for supper as I have some ground sirloin I need to use up or loose. We'll see how my tummy feels by then. I guess I can always mix it up then freeze it since the burger wasn't frozen yet. I found a suprise deal of ground sirloin for $1.99lb at my grocery store!! It normally goes for $2.00 to $3.00 a pound here. I ended up getting 3#'s and putting 2 of it in the freezer thinking I'd make burgers or some such with the other pound. Well, I ended up getting this flu bug and have yet to cook it up. Will also need to pay bills. Never a fun thing but necessary none the less.
A few weeks ago I found some "peel and stick" tile on clearance for real cheap at one of the home stores. I plan on using it in the bacement. I've started with some and found I need a real thin layer of glue to "help" it along since my floor is a tad uneven in spots. It's turning out nicely. It's a sky blue with white square in the center. Really brightens things up and makes it look cleaner. It sure is a great feeling to be able to accomplish something myself. My Dad teases me in saying that after I finish making all these improvements I'll decide not to relocate. Silly man LOL. It may make it a bit harder, but I'm looking forward to starting fresh somewhere. Also hoping to NOT live in town but am learning that being a Urban Homesteader isn't impossible either. Just not my cup of tea if ya all know what I mean. I may never have 40 acres or even 5 but know I'll feel so much better with even one acre. Only time will tell and of course God. Only he knows his plans for me and if it's to forever remain a Urban Homesteader, then so be it. I'll adapt.
Well, I didn't make a menu this week due to my tummy issues. I've been playing it by ear. I opened a jar of chicken soup and added some noodles to it. It actually hit the spot. Hopefully I'm on the mend now. I work this weekend so would like to get a few things pre cooked today and tomorrow so I don't have to think as much on the menu LOL.
Thursday or Friday I'll have to clean the church. Am getting things ready to start waxing the floors the last week of March in order to have things looking nice for Easter. Too much going on that week of Easter that's for sure. Never get it done in time otherwise. I had to take a vacation week from my full-time job in order to do it.
Well, I'd better go see what needs stocking. Hope all have a wonder couple days. I'll see you all Friday night - sending those warm fuzzies cross country to everyone!
