Good evening everyone. I pray all are well and safe. We only got a dusting from last night but are expecting 6-7 inches Friday night and another 6-7 Saturday and about 4 on Sunday with continued light acumulation Monday and Tuesday.

I'm not use to this 3-11 shift at all. Mind you I'm grateful for the hours, but when your body is use to working 11pm-7am there is a world of difference. I slept until 0900 this morning and dragged all day. I did vaccum the rugs and swept, but that's about all. Good thing I had that chicken soup - which by the way turned out very good. I'll be canning the last of it tomorrow. I should have about 7 pints worth. I had some for lunch and put dumplings on top. Mmmmm.

I strung a line lengthwise thru my bacement and have been hanging my scrubs and lighter cloths on it to dry. Not that "outdoors" smell but cheaper for sure. I absolutely love Crystal Miller's laundry soap. I even use it in cold water without a problem. I have found that by running a rinse of vinegar and water helps keep soap buildup from happening. My cloths come just as clean as if I use Tide or other bad for the enviroment detergents. I don't have much trouble with static kling either.

It won't be long and the sap should be running. My Uncle makes syrup every year. I always get a couple quarts from him but then I enjoy hauling buckets up to the "Sugar Shack" for boiling. We also have small dixi cups for "testing" the sap. Looks like water but has a hint of sweetness to it. You'd be amazed at the different tastes each tree produces. There's usually a Sunday after church when a bunch of us gather around and "cook out" hot dogs and marshmallows with items brought to share. It's a great time and for desert there's Breyer's vanilla icecream with fresh warm maple syrup poured on top. I'm so spoiled. I love maple sugaring time. Mind you I do use it spareingly as it really causes some nasty spikes in my blood sugar but I don't have it all the time so a once in a while treat is ok according to my doctor. I really like it over vanilla icecream and hot cornbread. Nothing like it in my book.

I need to make another batch of bread - or rather sandwich rolls. I think I'll also mix a batch of biscuits as well. A friend of mine dropped off rabbit before I left for work today. Not a large one but will make a ice stew. My nephew is going out for squirel this weekend. Hope he's successfull as I enjoy crockpot squirrel. I put it in the crockpot with onions and a can of muchroom soup and a little water. Sprinkle on some onion soup mix and simmer all day. Serve with carrots, fresh biscuits or cornbread and it's a meal for a king.

Well, I'd better go stock rooms for the next run of patients. Sending everyone warm fuzzies and again, if there's something you can teach me about proper blogging etiquite let me know. Have a great night everyone!!!
