Good TGIF Morning Everyone!!

I got some much needed sleep today. I was up at 1pm and back in bed by 5pm. Was still very hard to get up for work tonite. I went with the BBQ venison as I had some rolls I needed to use up. Had some sliced onion on top and they were delicious. Made my house smell sooo good. I'm having chicken of some sort tonite. I think I'll pull out the ole George Foreman unless it's still fairly warm outside, then Grilled chicken sounds soooooo good. I have some kindleing that's just begging to be burned in the grill. I don't use charcoal nor gas. I pick up fallen branches and my dad gives me the smaller pieces of wood he doesn't like to use for his woodstove. I chop them a little smaller and use them for grilling. I've a cheap charcoal grill that I  picked up on clearance at Walmart a couple years ago. It's worked nicely for my wood grilling. My dad use to have a semi tire wheel drum he fashioned into a "heavy duty" grill that withstood wood cooking. My mother didn't like using it so they bought a gas. I had a gas one for a little while but the gas was so expensive and I felt unsafe using it. I'd much rather use wood. Once you have it down to a science, it takes no time at all. Mmmmmm, the thought of grilled chicken - yup, delema solved.

I'm off this weekend so won't be posting until Monday night. My weekend plans include today I have a doctor's apt at 0830, a bit of sleep, I've got to clean half the church and maybe get to my bathroom. Of course dinner is in the mix. Tomorrow - depends if my nieces have hockey games or not. I must change the filters in the heat vents and the main air filter, there's always Mt. Washmore to tackle - I'd like to keep on the Monday schedule but will need to do the bedding and much to my daughter's violent disapproval, will be shoveling out her mountains os dirty cloths and bedding that is piled up in various areas of her room. I don't know how she can stand it - that dirty cloths smell is disgusting. I've tried everything to get her to take pride in herself and teach her to take care of her cloths and bedding but you know how it is - Mom knows nothing. I'm getting low on laundry soap so will mix up a batch of that, the living room needs to be dusted, dust mopped and floor scrubbed, finish cleaning the church, I'm getting low on granola so will at some point mix up a batch of that although the thought of baking it in small batches in the toaster oven is not appealing. Maybe I'll make it at my mother's and use her extra oven she has in the bacement. I'm hungry for peanut butter cookies so will mix some of them up as well. Dinner will be leftover chicken added to stir-fry veggies. I'll be pulling out my soup chicken to make some chicken soup as well. Sunday, church at 0800, make up my menue for the week - something I've been lax on lately and really need to get back into doing. I think I'll also work on my cookbook for a little relaxation. I've so many magazines, clippings, and print-outs I've been slowly "scrapping" them into a cookbook. I place them into those sheet protectors and into a binder (which I got on clearance after school started and the rush was over for school supplies) with dividers. As it grows and room gets tight I've a few other binders that I'll designate for a couple "chapters". It's fun and really gets the creative juices flowing.

I think I mentioned the other day that my seed catalogue came in. Started making my list. I'm still not 100% sure on varieties tho.

Sweet corn - something I've not had a whole lot of luck with but keep trying                     Peas                                                                                                                              Green Beans                                                                                                                          Yellow Beans                                                                                                                 Great Northern Beans - for drying - makes awsome bean soup!                                 Tomatoes Carrots                                                                                                                                Kohlabi - I LOVE kohlrabi!                                                                                      Cabbage                                                                                                                      Pumpkin                                                                                                                       Squash - butterhorn, spaghetti, zucchini, summer, Acorn                                        Cucumbers                                                                                                                        Dill                                                                                                                            Broccoli                                                                                                                       Onions - also something I don't have much luck with but keep trying

I've been fortunate that we have an awsome Farmer's Market that opens in early June so I get my lettuce and spinach there. Also, when I have deer or bunny issues or something happens to my garden, I know I have the Market as backup - There is a very nice gal who brings in her organic yukon potatoes that are just wonderful! Actually, all her veggies are nice. Mmmmmm, making my tummy grumble.

Well, we have a patient coming in so will see ya all later!!

Love and fuzzies,

Michele
