Scarecrow    Good Morning everyone. Well, it's TGIF and I'm off this weekend!! Yipee!!! I'm planning to go over to the house here and get a large load of stuff, bring it back, take a nap then move the remaing things this afternoon. I had planned to do the load this morning and finialize the move tomorrow but it's suppose to be wet and stormy and I'd rather not have to go thru the hassle of tarping everything down and moving in the rain. This way everything will be moved and tomorrow I'll do a final cleaning so I can mail the landlord the key by the first. It'll be good to only worry about one house. Sunday will be a good day of rest for me LOL. Church then a whole lot of nothing (if I can stand looking at boxes all day). At most I'll make a loaf of bread.

It's suppose to get close to 80 degrees today then we'll get hit with the cooler fall temps again. It's so nice to be prepared for winter - ok, I need to finialize a couple things but I'm much further along than last year.

Ohhhh, I can't wait for the apples to begin coming in. I love fresh crunchy, tangy apples. I always have at least 2 gallons of dried apples handy. The best snack around plus they are good in muffins, hot cerial, breads, cakes, pie, trail mix, and just eating by the handful. I dry several kinds and just mix them in the storage containers. I also need to make some apple butter, I'm low on apple juice, and apple sauce. Mmmmmmm, I can smell it all now!!!

Well, I'd better go move around as I'm tired tonite. I hope and pray everyone has a wonderful safe and healthy weekend. Sending lots of love and Fuzzies out to all.

Michele

Mmmm, apples...! They're very expensive in these parts ($2 a pound, and a pound of apples is like three if you're lucky) and so I don't buy them very often. Do you have a tree that you get yours from, or a neighbor's orchard? I'll have to look around on the internet and see if there are any pick-your-own type of places around here; I bet I could get some bargains if there are.

No, I don't have a tree but fortunately our grocery has them on sale about this time. It's now Monday, Sept 29 and this week the Macintosh are on sale for .69/lb and Braeburns for .89/lb. Each week they have a different variety on sale. Also as the Farmer's market winds down there's a orchard about a half hour south of me that comes to our Market and has wonderful apples for a very reasonable price - esp if you get the whole peck. I've a friend who gives me a bag or two of crab apples too so I'm fortunate.
