Chicken noodle soup and other warm thoughts

Greetings!

I made Chicken Noodle Soup for lunch today; it was really, really good. Especially since it is so cold here, with a forecast high of only 21 degrees.

Here is how the soup turned out:

I decided to get out the Christmas dishes; they added a festive touch! I used Inn Maid Egg Noodles for the first time. I used to buy fine egg noodles at an Amish store, but they are no longer available. I liked the Inn Maid noodles very much, and will definitely buy them again!

I'm really trying to get in the Christmas mood. I'm not much of "holiday" person; I truly find joy and peace in the day-to-day. So events that are steeped in hoopla don't hold much appeal for me. But I am trying, if for no other reason than my children LOVE Christmas and all the trimmings. So, I'm trying to catch their enthusiasm!

Blessings,
~Jennie

We love chicken soup! I raise chickens for eggs and meat. Right now on my stove, I am simmering a hen (mine) and a rooster (given to my DH as a "thank you" for helping a neighbor with his smoking woodstove). I plan to use most of the meat for Chicken Spaghetti and the remainder for Chicken Noodle Soup. Uhmmm!
