Thank you for taking the time to read this!

I am a 30 something SAHM trying to get back to the simple life.

I used to live in Nebraska near all the farms and corn fields. Oh how I miss the country life! I now live in Sunny/Rainy Florida in the city.  I have a house and a small yard, and I have commited myself to using it for more than just a playground for my dogs.

My 2007 goal is to get back to the basics. Planting a garden full of fruits and veggies that can be grown in our weather. I am also going to learn to bake and sew using patterns.

I have lots of goals....enjoy the journey!

Many welcomes to you, to Homesteadblogger. :-)

You know, there's a lot to be said for city life. Many times the most simplest of lifestyles can be led in the city and not in the country. Bus service, goods and services within walking distance, trusted neighbors nearby, small yards that take minimal work to maintain, no septic tank, no well... I mean, the list is endless.

Playing in your backyard with your dogs is a good thing. :-) It's relaxing, it's good exercise for both you and the dogs, and they say that people who love pets live longer than people who don't. And hey, I'm sure there's some room for a small garden back there too... or maybe some container gardens to decorate your front stoop.

Bloom where you are planted, as the ole saying goes. And I know you will. :-)

Love~ Andrea

welcome, Melinda

Glad to have you here at Homestead Blogger. It will be fun to learn of your adventures in simplicity. I began seeking out the simple lifestyle nearly 6 years ago when my son was born prematurely and I wanted to be home with him. It has been far more satisfying than I anticipated. You will learn a lot from the members of this blogging community and we will be happy to answer any questions we can. Blessings from the Big Sky Country........Denise (prairiemom)

Welcome!
Hope your goal of getting back to basics works out. We are also trying that. Some things are hard but I think it is really worth it!
