BLOOD CURDLING SCREAMS!

Whew! What a day! I got to meet one of our neighbors under the worst circumstances! We we quitely enjoying our lunch on our upper deck. Everyone had just finished and went inside when I heard a blood curdling scream for help! We have no fences between our back yard and our neighbors so I ran downstairs and across the yards to the street on the other side. A woman was standing shaking from head to toe with blood running from her hand and legs. She was walking in the neighborhood and a dog came charging out of a home and attacked her. She was bitten 5 times on her legs and 2 times through 1 hand. I grabbed the car keys and the boys and took her to urgent care. We are grateful to God that we were in the right place at the right time to be of help. She is fortunate to not have to have any stitches but is on pain medication and antibiotics. Another good thing to report is that the dog's owner returned him to the shelter they had gotten him from and it has been determined that he is too aggressive to adopt out to another family. I am so glad that it did not attack one of the many small children in the neighborhood or the outcome could have been much, much worse. Please always remember to take a stick or pepper spray with you as you walk for exercise and be aware!

How scary that must have been for her. Do keep us posted on her healing, and I will say a prayer for her this evening. It was a blessing that you all were home to be there for her after this attack.

I am so glad that you were able to help out. You were in the right place at the right. I am glad that she is going to be ok. That dog needs to go back to the shelter and find a different home if it can.

What a blessing that you were there to help her out!!! I can't imagine how scared she was, and you were there to hop into action and help!!! I am glad the dog won't be adopted out to any other families!! If that had been a small child, oh I don't even want to think about it!!!!!

Thanks for the reminder to take pepper spray or something like that with you when walking. I don't think about it in a small town like ours, because I am not scared of being attacked by a person, but I will take something with me from now on in case of a dog attack!

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
