HELP! Dehydrator Questions

I am thinking of getting a food dehydrator. I am interested your recommendations. So please let me know what model you use and how happy you are with it. Let me also know what I should be looking for in a dehydrator. I know all of you are a wealth of information!

my mom has one on which you can adjust the temperature - like herbs need lower than meat for optimum drying. I like to use hers!
mine has one setting: plugged in. It means I have to keep a better watch on it so I can rotate my trays so they do not burn. that is one feature I would highly recommend - a temp gage.

I do not remember the names of the two. Mine is clear brown in a plain unmarked brown box (the original) and has no markings that I have ever been able to see. My mom's is an opaque white in a box with pretty pictures of dried foods. That is all I know. I am sorry I cannot be more help.

I have one that is round and stackable. You can adjust the temp. I just got it at a thrift store and it has served me very well!

Look into an Excaliber. I love mine for its flexibility. They are the best on the market, in my opinion.
