April 23, 2007 - How About Bees in the Living Room?
You MUST check out this little write up (albeit from May of 2006) about a couple in Paris who have bee hives in their living room!
Is that not amazing?
I wonder if they still "hive" them there?

December 14, 2006 - A Bee Video
While perusing around cyber space catching up on some reading and so forth, I ran across this short video at Becky's Bees & Blooms. It shows the installation of bees into a new hive and is quite interesting.
I was surprised at the volume of the bees at the end ~ whew!

December 8, 2006 - Homeland Security & the Honey Bee
I'll be the first to admit that I've become enchanted with the honey bee since I began reading about them and am now researching beekeeping. These little bugs are incredibly intelligent and instinctive.
Apparently scientists believe it, too. They've enlisted apis mellifera to aid the world in the war on terror - check it out HERE.
Amazzzzzzzzzzzzing.
Have a great weekend!
Honey Bee Blessings ~

November 19, 2006 - Chicago's Honey Bees
The January 2007 issue of The Herb Companion has an interesting article on honey bees - honey bees that occupy the rooftop of City Hall in Chicago that is. Seems the City of Chicago has had them for a few years now and they are quite a success - so much so they are harvesting about 400 pounds of honey from their two hives that are happily nestled in City Hall's rooftop garden.
Check out a recent online article HERE about Chicago's Italian Honey Bees - you'll need to pick up a copy of The Herb Companion at your local newstand or bookstore to read their article about this successful undertaking by the Mayor of Chicago.
Honey Bee Blessings,
