News from a Yurt in Oregon
• Sunday, February 18, 2007 - Orphaned Lambs
I can't believe it's been so long since I posted on my blog! Where does time go???
My oldest daughter came home with three orphaned boy lambs from her Grandpa's neighbor a little over a week ago. We scrambled to get everything ready for them as our dairy goat does aren't due for another month. They stayed by the fire with us in the Yurt for the first week and are now safely established in the kidding stall in our goat barn. We lost the little runt on the left the day after this picture was taken but the two others are growing strong and healthy. They have had all their shots, castrated, and docked as of yesterday. We've never had lambs before so we are really enjoying them. We have three older pet goats that will be put out to pasture, so to speak, so I think we will let these guys live with them.
