my first entry

I can not believe I am have a blog how exciting! I have a dear friend who turned me on to this awesome site and I have been hooked since. I was thinking there is no way I can get a blog on that site I am not a homesteader. But I think in a lot of ways we are all homesteaders at heart. I want to live a more simple life, raise great kids who love the Lord, and have a happy and healthy marriage.
I have been married to a great man for 8.5 years, we have three children Elizabeth 8, David 4, Johnathan 3, and johnathan had a twin brother matthew who passed away when he was 3 months old. We live in Bakersfield, Ca. and I am a stay at home mom.
I look forward to getting to know many of you!

your blog belongs here too! Many of us are not "real" homesteaders. Just here to learn, and share what we have learned. No matter where we live - there is always some small steps we can make towards a simpler life. I dreamed for a good many years before starting to really take steps. First, on the internet when we lived in a city - and I thought we'd *have* to move to the country to do this or that - and for some things - it could be so. But with the coming of blogs - I can see that there are a million little things to do aside from keeping animals and 'traditonal homesteader-ish" activities that are not location reliant :-)

I just wantd to say "welcome". Glad that you joined us here at HSB. Your blog caught my eye because I have a daughter named Raquel. :-) It''s not a very common name, so I just had to stop by. I'm glad I did and look forward to hearing more from you.
