O.K. so its been a while since I have updated but I have now been challenged so I am going to do it! with the holidays good and gone I need to focus on organizing my house. we are having a baby, and tomorrow I find out the sex my daughter and I are really praying for a girl. if it is a girl we are swapping the kids rooms so the girls can have the bigger room but most importantly the bigger closet! If not everything stays as it is.
In the next few weeks I want to reorganize all my closets in the house including my craft/stamping shelves. I will take pictures of the progress. I started today by organizing the garage a good bit! |

Well hello all! I have not written in a little while and today I decided I needed to give myself a certain time of the day to blog so I need to be more consistent. Not just in blogging but in all things in my life. I think compared to many people I am very organized but lately I have been so busy that my consistancy has been all over the place. I also need to be more consistent in my devotional life, today I am starting two new bible studies the first is with the leadership group from MOPS it is a book called "Beautiful in God's eyes" by Elizabeth George, the treasures of the proverbs 31 woman. I am so excited for this study. Its about becoming the woman god wants us to be a woman of true beauty and deals with all the verses from her character, to her value, her husband, her faith and her reward a total of 24 chapters it really should be a great study. The other study is called "apples of Gold" and is based on titus 2 the older women mentoring the younger women to be Godly wives and mothers, then they have cooking demos at every meeting. It is a 6 week study should be great, actually I think the 2 are a good combination. I will post progress on both. Have a great week.... RAQUEL |

Well the first week of school is halfway over dd8 loves it! She is not homeschooled but goes to private school at our church. If I homeschool my boys(90% chance I will, waiting on 1 more confirmation) I will probably use the same curriculum (abeka) anyone use abeka? I am considering it because I have so many of the books from dd8 school already. She has a great teacher and just truly enjoys going to school! She has been getting up before the alarm to get ready! The begining of the school year is always great I feel more structured and scheduled which I like the only thing I keep thinking is 2 & 1/2 weeks until M.O.P.S starts I am the coordinator of my churchs group and I feel there is so much to do, really I just have to make sure all the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted but there sure a lot of t's and i's!

My dd8 is getting ready to begin the 3rd grade how quickly time flies. She goes to a private christian school at our church that is fabulous. I really love it and have no complaints but I really have a feeling that I am suppose to be homeschooling which is funny because anyone who knows me would never picture me saying that. I have always loved the idea but never thought that I could do it, I thought I needed to be better educated like a teacher would be but lately I feel the Lord is telling me different. I am going to begin researching it and talking to my friends who homeschool to get some more input and just wait for the Lord to confirm it to me. my sons are 3 and 4 so I have this year to decide before my older son is ready for kindergarten God will show me by then. If anyone has some good advice I would love to hear it. |

I can not believe I am have a blog how exciting! I have a dear friend who turned me on to this awesome site and I have been hooked since. I was thinking there is no way I can get a blog on that site I am not a homesteader. But I think in a lot of ways we are all homesteaders at heart. I want to live a more simple life, raise great kids who love the Lord, and have a happy and healthy marriage. I have been married to a great man for 8.5 years, we have three children Elizabeth 8, David 4, Johnathan 3, and johnathan had a twin brother matthew who passed away when he was 3 months old. We live in Bakersfield, Ca. and I am a stay at home mom. I look forward to getting to know many of you! |
