Coastal Reflections

Last night I finished working up our social studies curriculum for next school year.  Yay!

Today is laundry day for me.  I wish we had a clothesline, but that's not high up on the priority list (according to hubby) with everything else that needs to be done around here.  Some will be hung to dry on a garment rack I have inside though and some in the showers, but I cringe at the thought of even using the dryer for the rest with our electric rates continuing to rise.  At least we've made it so far without turning on the a/c this year.  I told hubby I want to hold off on that as long as possible (he'll want to give in way before me).

My oldest has been saving stamps in anticipation of joining a local homeschool stamp collecting club.  We'll go to our first meeting tomorrow and he's very excited.  We have gotten the majority of his stamps ready.  The last remaining few are drying now and we'll flatten them later today.

Hubby is working on getting the oldest dog shaved and it's quite a chore.  Her fur is so thick and wiry so she will definitely be cooler once he is finished.  It's also fun to see it put the spring back into her step.  I may trade out with him shortly and work on her a bit myself.  I hope to do some mowing later today.  That's one chore I enjoy and having a little time to myself will be nice.

I so hear you on the clothesline subject - dh put one up on our back deck a couple of years ago so it is like an umbrella style but mounted permanently on our deck. I would be lost in the summer without one.

Thanks so much for reading my blog - it is a wonderful way to meet new people.
