Just when I thought it was safe to go back in the yard...

I've been really cautious about going into the yard anywhere on our property due to all the snake encounters we've had, mostly with water moccasins, since last fall.  Yesterday I did a majority of the mowing and dh finished up for me.  He came in and immediately called a family meeting.  He let ds1 and I know that whenever ds1 is outside from now on he is to stay right with one of us at all times.  The reason???  Dh saw a pygmy rattlesnake while mowing about a foot away from our back porch (which is now enclosed to the point that it could not have gotten onto the porch, thankfully).  He chased it with the mower, ran over it and chopped it into bits.

Yuck I hate snakes. We get them bad where we live. Mostly black and gardener snakes but we get copper heads to and they are not something you want to mess with. So far this year we have killed a few but not copper heads thank the Lord.

God Bless,
Tammy
