Rainy Thursday

I'm so glad I went early today to pick up my order from the co-op.  It's been pouring rain for the last hour and a half and shows no signs of letting up.  This week I got red onions, red potatoes, russet potatoes, yukon gold potatoes, yellow squash, grapes, bananas, pink lady apples, blueberries, a mango, and apricots.  I figured we'd give the apricots a try since the peaches we ordered didn't come in.  Hopefully we'll all enjoy them as they are not something I've ever really eaten and it's not something dh and I have bought in all the time we've been married.  I have to find a better way to deal with ds2 while we're there though.  You get to make your own selections so it takes me a while to pick out what I want, weigh it, write it all down, etc.  Today ds1 held ds2 for me, but he was itching to play with the other kiddos and kept asking me every couple of minutes "Are you done yet?"    The area where all the produce is kept is tiny and if more than 2 people are in there at once trying to fill their orders we end up in each other's way, step on each other, etc.  Three other ladies there today with babies older than ds2 were using slings.  I have a snuggli that was gifted to me before ds2 was born and I use it when we shop so I suppose I will use it from now on.  I will feel like the odd man out (not having a sling), but I need to get it in my head to not let that bother me.

I finished reading The Rapture a bit ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.  I need to move on to some cross stitching later today.  I feel like I'm never going to finish it, let alone in time for Christmas, so I keep telling myself that slow and steady wins the race.  I have a goal of working on it for a bit every day this month and so far I've accomplished that.  I want to start working on a quilt for ds2 for Christmas next month, but I'll see where I stand with the cross stitch project and make a decision based on that.

You've been busy my friend. We love apricots here. They are so good for you.

How nice to have a co-op to go to! I don't think we have one here, if we did, I would go!

Blessings,
Michelle
