Timing MyselfI'm having an incredibly hard time staying focused while trying to tidy and declutter the house. I truly know it is from lack of sleep. I'm a light sleeper which doesn't help matters, but it seems one of my 3 boys (dh, ds1, and ds2) is always waking me up during the night and then I can't go back to sleep. I've started setting the oven timer this week for 30 minutes at a time and it's helping me stay focused and on track. I don't wander off and start looking at something else or sit down to read something and totally forget what I was doing, etc. It's challenging because ds1 keeps trying to interrupt me, but I've told him as long at the oven timer is going mommy is not going to stop unless it's an emergency. There's so much I want to declutter - not that we have a ton of stuff - and I know it will bring a more peaceful feeling to me.
I've also treated myself today to looking through our library's online card catalog for the branch that we've been frequenting lately due to the children's summer programs. This branch is in a 'retirement' area and the opposite way from town and all my errands, but the summer program is giving me time to appreciate it more. I've visited it before just when I needed some time alone or when we happened to be down that way, but I never realized just what a great selection they have. The children's department is awesome - much better than the branch we normally use. They also have a freebie magazine bin where you can drop off or take whatever you wish. I love that, especially when I find issues of Guideposts.
I'm off to set the timer yet again! Tonight I hope to sit down and work on lesson planning for this coming school year a bit more. I was able to get more done last night than I had anticipated so I'll roll with it while I can. Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 86 of 225 } { Next Page } |
